Introduction – Organizational Study
 The organization study is carried out to have practical knowledge
about the whole organization. This study helps us to familiarize
with various departments of the organization and its different
functions. This also enables us to have throu understanding about
the industry as well as the company.
NEED OF THE STUDY:
 Health care sector is the one of the fastest growing sectors in India.
Also hospital is one of the most complex structured organizations
amongst all industries at present because of IT revolution,
consumerism, and specialization in different fields, hospital as an
organization got new dimension
 This study is being conducted at PVS Hospital, Kozhikode , this
study tell us an overall view of organization and functions carried
out by different departments like, Marketing, Human resource,
Finance, public relation. The study is based on the relevant data and
materials given from the organization.
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
 Primary objective:
 The primary objective is to have a familiarity and practical
experience towards a reputed service firm.
Secondary objective:
 To learn about organization and its functions.
 How they are taking decisions in the organization.
 The organization study incorporates the structure, policies, different activities
and a SWOT analysis of the organization.
 This study aims at generating the practical awareness about the management.
It help to interact with the organizational executives of the company,
 The study helps to make a comparison between the class room knowledge
with real situation in the organization. To understand the relationship between
each department.
LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
 This study was mainly based on primary data obtained from the interviews with
managers and therefore there are chances of personal bias.
 Due to non-availability of certain information critical evaluation was not possible
 The top managements were reluctant to disclose matters related to the internal
affairs of the company.
 To understand the organization and its working, the period of one month is not
enough. So time was the most important limiting factor of the study.
 Because of the busy working schedule of various department heads full information
can’t be gathered
 Some of the data are treated as confidential and hence the researcher could not get
the details of the same

 Health care industry comprises of providers of diagnostic, preventive, remedial,
and therapeutic services such as doctors, nurses, hospitals and other private,
public, and voluntary organizations. It also includes medical equipment and
pharmaceutical manufacturers and health insurance firms.
 The health care industry is one of the world’s largest and fastest- growing
industry
 health care industry have 13% growth in every year.
 High level of education and greater health consciousness have played a key role in
the attainment of good health standards in Kerala.
 It leads to mushrooming of private hospitals that offer quality services matching
international standards.

 PVS Hospital does not follow the decentralization in the
organization
 Management and employees communication to be improved.
 The hospital is not fully computerized
 Need to improve specialities like cardiology, oncology etc
 Hospital information system need to be improved
 Need to reduce use of paper works including nursing departments,
all to be computerized
OPPORTUNITIES
 No other specialty hospital near by
 Mass demand for medical services in highly populated density urban
area of Calicut like Kallayi and Beypore and also located near
Calicut railway station
 Referring from and to hospital
 Implementing NABH standards
 Health packages
 provide more facilities in all other departments
 Hospital is located in an easily reachable area.
THREATS
 Emergence of new technologies and innovation in medical field
 Facing Competition from MIMS (Malabar Institute of Medical
Sciences) Hospital, Baby Memorial Hospital, Iqraa Hospital and etc.
 Employee turn over
 The location of the hospital is highly sound polluted area
FINDINGS
 The organization uses modern technology
 The hospital has experienced doctors providing quality services
 The organization aim to ensure a safe working environment to all the staffs
 Collecting opinions from the employees are good for creating better
working environment.
 Working time is 8 hours including night shift,
 PVS was awarded the ISO 9001:2008 certificate by BSI.
 PVS got prestigious NABH Accreditation in 2014.

 The staffs are satisfied with the medical facilities
 There is a good co-ordination between departments of the organization
 Arrange more Training and development programs to all the employees, like
personality development classes, and conducting seminars about general
topics,
 24 hours working casualty, ambulance, radiology and imaging, CT scan, blood
bank, ultra sounds, pharmacy, lab, X-ray, ECG, and accident emergency
facilities.
 Modern physiotherapy unit.
 All the employees knows very well about their work

SUGGESTIONS
 Organization should study about employee’s un-satisfaction in the work, arrange
more welfare activities
 Conduct a committee once in a month, and collect feedback from all the
departments. It will ensure work efficiency of all such departments
 Increase the amount of salary according to the work done by the employee
 Proper training should give to the employees to get familiar with new software’s
 To implement decentralization, it will help to increase the satisfaction level of the
employees
 Computerization of all departments including nursing departments
 Need proper time management for doctor’s consultation

  • 2. Introduction – Organizational Study  The organization study is carried out to have practical knowledge about the whole organization. This study helps us to familiarize with various departments of the organization and its different functions. This also enables us to have throu understanding about the industry as well as the company.
  • 3. NEED OF THE STUDY:  Health care sector is the one of the fastest growing sectors in India. Also hospital is one of the most complex structured organizations amongst all industries at present because of IT revolution, consumerism, and specialization in different fields, hospital as an organization got new dimension  This study is being conducted at PVS Hospital, Kozhikode , this study tell us an overall view of organization and functions carried out by different departments like, Marketing, Human resource, Finance, public relation. The study is based on the relevant data and materials given from the organization.
  • 4. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY  Primary objective:  The primary objective is to have a familiarity and practical experience towards a reputed service firm.
  • 5. Secondary objective:  To learn about organization and its functions.  How they are taking decisions in the organization.  The organization study incorporates the structure, policies, different activities and a SWOT analysis of the organization.  This study aims at generating the practical awareness about the management. It help to interact with the organizational executives of the company,  The study helps to make a comparison between the class room knowledge with real situation in the organization. To understand the relationship between each department.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY  This study was mainly based on primary data obtained from the interviews with managers and therefore there are chances of personal bias.  Due to non-availability of certain information critical evaluation was not possible  The top managements were reluctant to disclose matters related to the internal affairs of the company.  To understand the organization and its working, the period of one month is not enough. So time was the most important limiting factor of the study.  Because of the busy working schedule of various department heads full information can’t be gathered  Some of the data are treated as confidential and hence the researcher could not get the details of the same
