HISTORY OF INDUSTRY Rice is the seed of monocot plant Orysa Sativa. Most widely consumed staple food for World Population. Second Highest after Maize. Evidences shows that rice is Originated from China and moves to America through European colonization. The cultivation of Rice begins 6500 years ago. WORLD SCENARIO Countries in Asia and Africa are highly depended on Rice as source of foreign exchange earnings and government revenues. Majority of rice is produced from India, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Burma and Bangladesh. 92% rice is produced and cultivated in Asian Region.  More than 550 million tons of rice is produced annual around the globe

INDIAN SCENARIO India ranks second in the rice production. 65% of people lives in India Rice is staple food. India is facing tough competition in exports of Rice. India’s annual Rice production is around 85 to 92 million tons. 50% of Rice is produced in West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. India is self sufficient in grain production. STATE SCENARIO Kerala is one of the most important Rice consuming States in India. Rice requirement in Kerala is about 7500 tons per day. Rice production in Kerala is declining and is not adequate to meet the requirement of people. Shift from paddy lands to remunerative crops create negative phase.

  38. SUGGESTIONS Company doesn’t have fully automated system. Even though it follows advanced technologies. Market share is not issued to general public. If company do so they can make more profit. Improved warehouse facility can increase more productivity. Sufficient sales promotional scheme should be introduced. Firm should concentrate more on competitors action.
  39. CONCLUSIONS The Intention behind doing the project was to get better idea about the organization, its different department, responsibilities of key personnel and its competitive performance. The company give more importance to maintain high quality products and its consistency. Company is using Z sortex machine capable for controling quality all the departments are functioning effectively for achieving the objectives of the Organization
