2. WHO IS HE?
He has physical disabilities and progressive limitations due to
degenerative disease being treated.
Born in January of 1942 in Oxford, England.
He is a professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge and
author of A Brief History of Time which was an international
bestseller.
3. WHAT DID HE DO?
His scientific works include a collaboration with Roger Penrose on
gravitional singularity theorems in the framework of general relativity,
and the theoretical prediction that black holes emit radiation, often
called Hawking radiation.
4. BIOGRAPHY
He studied at University College, Cambridge and he
graduated in 1962 with the title of mathematician and
physicist.
5. MORE THINGS
Hawking's father advised him to study medicine, concerned
that there were few jobs for mathematics graduates.
Hawking has a rare early-onset slow-progressing form of
amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
