2. Dealing with memories
We experience several situations in our lives, some of them are
good, some of them are bad. A teacher of mine once said that
people tend to avoid their bad experiences and to hide them in
order not to feel the pain. However, as much as we try,
sometimes those memories pop up into our heads and causing
us the same feelings over and over again.
3. Don't forget me I beg, I remember
you said...
Trying to forget is one of the worst feelings we have. Inside you are so
many questions that cannot been answered. You are trying to forget,
but you can't. You remeber the words, someone said, you remember
the moments with so many details and you're feeling that pain again,
of something that's gone. Trying to convince yourself that you're ok by
"burning" these memories, but you can't. It's not because you're not
strong enough. It's because that's you brain is developing a defensive
mechanism.
4. Why we create memories?
Human are the only species that can develop memory. That's
because where we were still in homo sapiens state we had to
remember things in order to protect ourselves in the future.
Meaning that memory is a defence mechanism in order to
predict things in the future. For example, if you get burn in the
fire, you will remember in the future the pain that was caused
and you won't act the same again. Memory is to make us more
awake. To remeber the past situations so we will be more ready
to deal with others in the future.
5. EternalSunshine
Have you seen the movie "Eternal sunshine of a spotless mind"?
There were two lovers who after a break up, they tryied to erase
the memories they had with each other. However they have n't
realized how much they loved each other until they lived those
moments again. Sometimes we are not mature enough to live
some experiences , that's why we fail to handle them, and that's
why we create memories, to be more mature and learn from our
past.
6. Trying to forget and to erase memories in not gonna make you feel any
better. The wound is still open and you're still hurt.
If you are still talking about it, you still care. If you want to forget but
you still think about the situations you're not moving on. The only
thinkg you can do is to accept the past , learn your lesson and be more
prepared in the future.
Past is past, but the future is all yours to create.
