$2.5 million operating budget for 2013 with a net income of $17.4 million resulting in
an 88% contribution margin.
Managed 35 employees with significant improvement in the Gallup employee
survey using the Studer Principle of daily rounding on employees.
Selected as Chairperson for the hospital through put Committee due to high

Thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC), American Association of Blood
Banks (AABB), and CLSI Standards. Produced highly successful outcomes in the
TJC. Three TJC surveys with no requirements for improvement (RFI) and three
AABB surveys with zero nonconformances.
AABB and TJC both requested copies of policies/procedures in blood bank,
specifically tissue management to use as their standard and share with other hospitals
Developed competency assessment checklist for all technical staff utilizing the six
methods required by CLIA to demonstrate competency.
Developed policies and procedures for all disciplines within the laboratory including
Chemistry, Blood Bank, Hematology and Coagulation.
Mentor to the Technical Supervisor on the development of policies and procedures as
well as document control.
Project /Time Manager for the successful implementation of new Roche chemistry
analyzer in 2013. Established the Sigma at which the laboratory was performing in
the chemistry department prior to clinical acceptance (strongly recommended by
regulatory agencies)
Served on Corporate Committees for selection of chemistry, urinalysis, hematology
and blood culture analyzers using an objective Six Sigma approach to the evaluation
of the instruments
Served on hospital Infection Control Committee as well Pharmacy and Therapeutics
Committee where we established an Antibiotic stewardship program to monitor the
use of antibiotics within the hospital in which we obtained significantly less usage and
more appropriate usage of antibiotics.
Served on Emergency Department (ED) and Critical Care Committees in which we
worked on a LEAN collaborative effort to improve turnaround time for laboratory
tests and throughout put in the ED. This resulted in the ED being the highest
performer with best throughput times within a 37 hospital IDN.
Participated in successful Leapfrog, Meaningful Use, and HIMS7 IT projects. Only
hospital in the State of Georgia that had reached HIMS7 IT certification at the time.
Managed all contracted services by monitoring the compliance to the contracts
including performance improvement initiatives.
