COMPANY: Student African American Brotherhood (SAAB)
COMPANY DESCRIPTION: SAAB’s mission is to increase the number of African American and Latino males
who graduate from high school and college by creating a positive peer community at middle and high schools
coupled with improving participants’ college readiness, postsecondary educational outcomes, and degree attainment
The organization creates an environment in which every individual student is affirmed and every activity of the
organization is humane and inclusive. “Caring” as a value is the key to creating the ethos within the organization.
Student participants cherish their independence and flourish within an organization providing an open and relaxed
environment. Students in SAAB are those who end up with higher grades, better school attendance, and better

fathers and productive citizens in society.
We have staff assigned to this project that are excited about the work SAAB does to help others reach their fullest
potential- and they are very creative and innovative practitioners. The staff posses a “good sense of humor” and have
been successful in working together on other projects in the past.

Having a marketing plan is critical to helping SAAB demonstrate what makes us unique, and getting that message
out to desired audiences. Being strategic about our marketing efforts is key to being relevant and competitive in the
work we do for young males of color. By plotting our marketing strategies ahead of time, we will be able to function
more smoothly and work more smartly. Our efforts are more likely to pay off by having a solid marketing plan,
especially with limited resources.
We currently have a consultant from non-profit finance fund (NFF) working with us, which should make it easy for
you to get started, especially after the final report from NFF is submitted to SAAB. We also have an active s
trategic plan, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
