2. Founded by Pastor Tim Lucas in 2001, Liquid Church
holds worship services on Sundays at four locations
throughout NJ and via Church Online. Soon after its
launch, the congregation of Liquid Church became
committed to community outreach projects and
initiatives, including providing services to the Eric
Johnson House, part of the New Jersey AIDS Services
that provides transitional and permanent housing
opportunities, supportive services, and education.
The Eric Johnson House accepted its first three
residents in 1994, and has since provided shelter to
dozens of individuals diagnosed with AIDS or HIV
who might otherwise find themselves living on the
street.
3. Management personnel at the house help
residents in regaining control of their lives and
offer support through numerous on-site services
that include substance abuse counseling, mental
health therapy, case management, and
companion services. During their stay, residents
also gain access to resources to address their
homeless status and find permanent housing.
The Eric Johnson House can house 10 individuals
at a time for a period up to 24 months.
4. Upon its initial founding, NJ AIDS Services went
by the name of its transitional housing facility
Eric Johnson House, which was its sole service. As
awareness for AIDS and HIV rose over the years,
the organization expanded its reach and services,
prompting it to relocate its headquarters and
alter its name to reflect its new-found direction.
The organization adopted the name New Jersey
AIDS Services in 2010.
Outreach is a large part of the community life at
