2.  You could carry only 2000 pounds per wagon
 Some popular types of wagons were The Conestoga
Wagon, The Murphy Wagon, and The Prairie
Schooner.
 Unlike are modern wagons these were large and often
pulled by oxen.

3.  When the brave pioneers saw rivers they had to pull
out the wagons wheels and float ( ford ) across the
water. The animals had to swim alongside.
 Often people and animals drowned in rivers
 Supplies from wagons sometimes fell out of wagons
during the crossing

4.  Scurvy was a disease caused by improper diet. It
caused swelling.
 Malaria was a disease acquired by being bitten by a
infected mosquito. You would get chills, sweats, fevers.
 Cholera a disease caused by contaminated water and
food. It made you barf, have diarrhea, and leg cramps.

5. The pioneers left for several reasons. Including to claim the
free land that ( at the time ) was occupied by Indians.
