To whom it may concern,
I have known Lisa Kato since 2008. We have worked together closely during her five-year tenure at the
Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC), where I am the Vice President of Healthcare
Communication Technology. In my position, it is critical that I have team members who can plan, organize,
and execute comprehensive projects with detailed accuracy under tight time constraints. Lisa was a great
team player for our team because our projects must meet healthcare service delivery efficiency, quality and
deadlines. We must meet all of the rules and regulations to ensure facilities are current and compliant. Lisa
assisted on training internal and external customers and supervised the training team. She managed safety,
security and maintenance of our data centers. Lisa communicated with staff and kept them informed of all
key milestones. Lisa was a key player in our team to meet our department’s objectives and goals.
Lisa’s experience in the following areas, made her insight invaluable to us:
1. Fully research and vet all medical providers, coordinate scheduling to maximize time management,
and maintain constant communication taking detailed notes to add to the comprehensive spreadsheet
for each client.
2. Coordination of all appointments to maximize time spent at each facility while being cognizant of the
patient’s limitations.
3. Check the accreditations of all providers and facilities to ensure compliance.
4. Train and supervise family members/friends on the patient’s medication schedule, exercise/therapy
routine, limitations and restrictions, and level of understanding of the disease(s) and progression.
5. Manage household finances to ensure that all bills are paid, accounts are in balance, making sure to
obtain approval for any disbursements.
6. Declutter, organize, and maintain household to minimize risk of injury, maximize space, and make
the patient as comfortable as possible.
7. Create a comprehensive spreadsheet for each client delineating all: medical conditions; medications;
tests and results; adverse effects and duration; food and liquid consumption; cognitive or physical
decline; incontinence issues or abnormalities; list and location of all pertinent documents (i.e.,
POLST, durable powers of attorney).
8. Patient advocate and liaison for all meetings with doctors, nurses, social workers, and hospice.
9. Constant communication and documentation with all medical providers, family members and/or
friends affecting the patient’s mental and physical well-being.
2. Therefore, I recommend that Lisa Kato will be a great candidate for your organization. In all my years of
experience, some people stand out for their great qualities and Lisa is one of those people. She is well known
for her intelligence, work ethic, positive attitude, teamwork mentality, and due diligence. She is well-
respected throughout the organization for her thoroughness, effective communication skills and meeting
short deadlines. Throughout the time I've known her, she has shown me time and again that she is a positive,
motivated leader with amazing potential.
In summation, due to her great attitude, dedication and excellent potential, I would endorse Lisa Kato
without reservation. I am sure that she would be as great an asset to your team as she has been to mine.
