(Fas Work Placement Programme)
The Role
INKEx is seeking a volunteer Research & Communications Administrator (unpaid) to work
with us in 2011. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate (minimum Level 7 full award
on the NFQ) from an Economics/Business, Marketing or IT background to work with our
Engagement Task Force. We are interested in finding a self starter keen to develop their
experience.
With appointment, a suitable candidate should be eligible to retain social welfare payments
via the Fas Work Placement Programme
About INKEx
Irish Nonprofits Knowledge Exchange (INKEx) aims to transform the visibility and
transparency of Irish nonprofits by documenting and disseminating their work. INKEx is an
independent, nonprofit company with charitable tax exemption from Revenue.
INKEx is nonprofit technology project working build a comprehensive, live database of Irish
non-profit organisations. Prior to the public launch of a free public website, we will be rolling
out this web based service to the 8,500 nonprofit organisations in scope. This including
charities, community & voluntary organisations, NGOs and civil society organisations.
The successful candidate will gain experience in:
● Implementing the organisation's marketing and communications plan
● Direct calls to stakeholders, clients and partners.
● Assisting with public relations activities and training
● Developing and updating INKEx's presence across a range of social media platforms
● Developing promotional materials for INKEx
● Researching and writing case studies/articles
● Developing promotional materials for The Irish Nonprofits Knowledge Exchange and
assisting with the public relations activities of The Irish Nonprofits Knowledge
Exchange
Working closely with and reporting to the project coordinator, this position is located in 37
Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin 2. The post is for 30 hours per week for a duration of 6 months
commencing in March 2011. The project may be extended to 9 months or lead to a full time

● Marketing communications & research,
● Sales, Public Relations and Marketing.
● Research and report writing.
Person specification:
The candidate should:
● Hold good verbal and communication skills
● Be able to meet deadlines and work in a team-oriented environment
● Be able to use Microsoft office tools and be comfortable with the web.
● A full award at Level 7 on the NFQ in Economics/Business, Marketing, or IT
