This panel discussion and networking event explored the dilemma of pricing work that springs from natural gifts and intuition. How do you monetarily value what is innate?
This event took place on #NationalFreelancersDay 2019, organised by the Association of Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed (IPSE.co.uk) and was hosted by Mindstream (MindstreamConnect.com), which covers holistic wellness and whose own research revealed that 85% of mind-body-spirit professionals are self-employed.

Undervaluing one’s own creative work is standard for many creative people.
It’s poverty-thinking... It’s in your self-perception that others will see your value. Reflect your value.
From others’ perspective, there’s a tendency to think old school: what’s your hourly-rate? Hourly rates belong in structured
systems that measure outcome. Creativity belongs in another dimension — one where you set the rates in a way that reflects
your value.

"The scholar Lewis Hyde wrote in his book The Gift that art lives in two economies:
the gift economy and the market economy.
In the gift economy, artists produce art not to be paid but for the sake of sharing a gift with the world.
In the market economy, goods are produced primarily as a tool for economic growth."
