In almost every vertical, end users are looking to minimize human, extended interaction with their service provider in favor of conducting their experiences on their own, in their time and place, very much so in insurance transactions, even ’serious’ ones. Insurance customers and clients’ expectations have been shaped by their digital experiences with sophisticated companies in other sectors, such as Amazon and Uber (Source). “Insurance is the last financial services market to be disrupted”, said Aviva UK CIO, Monique Shivanandan. This market is facing commoditization, decreased loyalty (23% would consider buying insurance from online service providers such as Google and Amazon, fierce competition and new, ‘InsurTech’ savvy entrants.
Perfecto is compliant with various certifications and third-party attestations. These include:
SSAE16. This report includes detailed controls Perfecto operates along with an independent auditor opinion about the effective operation of those controls.
PCI DSS Level 1. Perfecto has been independently validated to comply with the PCI Data Security Standard as a shared host service provider.
ISO 27001. Perfecto has achieved ISO 27001 certification of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) covering infrastructure, data centers, and services.
HIPAA. Perfecto is compliant with HIPPA’s Security and Privacy Rules.
US/EU Privacy Shield. Perfecto maintains compliance with the 2016 EU data privacy law (formerly Safe Harbor). The EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework was designed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and European Commission to provide companies on both sides of the Atlantic with a mechanism to comply with EU data protection requirements when transferring personal data from the European Union to the United States in support of transatlantic commerce.
Germany Data Privacy. No export of data outside of EU. New facilities scheduled for Q1 2017. The German Bundesdatenschutzgesetz (BDSG) is a Federal data protection act, that together with the data protection acts of the German federal states and other area-specific regulations, governs the exposure of personal data, which are manually processed or stored in IT systems.
To dive further into Perfecto’s approach with open source, let’s look at our Selenium and Appium implementation. Perfecto does more than simply hosting servers. Perfecto has extended capabilities of test Frameworks with key capabilities uniquely relevant to mobile app quality at the scale required by enterprises.
Enterprise ready open source test frameworks require the ability to control mimicking the end user environment something not available in the currently available open source implementation. Additionally, important automation capabilities are also added. For example, teams utilizing other tools may be familiar performing object identification using either native properties or visual (OCR, Image) methods. Perfecto enables teams to use both for optimizing performance.

Testing helps expose problems, but it’s really slow feedback loops that are the problem. Fast, automated testing on every build closes those gaps.
