Village case study or we may say study of Vernacular Architecture is an architecture style that is
designed
Based on local needs, availability of construction materials and reflecting local traditions. At
least
originally, Vernacular architecture did not use formally – school architects, but relied on the
design skills and tradition of local builders.
The methods of sound construction incorporating appropriate use of materials, sufficient
strength
and permanence, maximum utility, and good proportion and grace. The building design has
been
the responsibility of the architect. The purposes are 1. climate and its effects on area (village)
culture and tradition. 2. people and there requirement. 3. materials for construction.
The Tradition and Culture of particular village or zone will appear or effect on the way to build
the house Or building.

6. THE INTRODUCTION OF THE ASMANPUR VILLAGE.
Asmanpur is a small Village/hamlet in Rupnagar Tehsil in Rupnagar District
of Punjab State, India. It comes under Asmanpur Panchayat.
It is located 7 KM towards South from District head quarters Rupnagar.
Behrampur ( 1 KM ) , Behrampur Dhaha ( 1 KM ) , Pathar Majra ( 1 KM ) ,
Salaura ( 1 KM ) , Bara ( 1 KM ) are the nearby Villages to Asmanpur.
Asmanpur is surrounded by Kurali Tehsil towards South , Morinda Tehsil towards
South , Chamkaur Sahib Tehsil towards west , Majri Tehsil towards East .
Kurali , Rupnagar , Morinda , Kharar are the near by Cities to Asmanpur.
This Place is in the border of the Rupnagar District and Solan District.
Solan District Nalagarh is East towards this place .
It is near to the Himachal Pradesh State Border. 35 KM from State capital
Chandigarh 4.

Introduction to our topic
Each and every thing has there own way to
come and way to go……as far as human in this
world they has history. That the great history
is made by the activities. That activities
become a tradition of the regions. Culture
that’s make beauty of the history. That culture
comes from art and style. The culture is
dependent on the climate.
Each and every thing in this world are
interdepent. We studied about the Asmanpur
village that how their culture and tradition are
formed with respect to architecture point of
view. Due to climate change they have also
change in way of house construction ,Some
due to religion they change style of
decoration.

# They have three major religions in this village.
Sikh ,Hindu and Muslim. They have only specific
zone for Muslim people as marked with red circle.
they have no specific zone for Hindu and Sikh.
# They have many Gurudwara, Temple and Mosque.

village. Just like aat , SC, ramdas valmik.

If they get injured. They have to go far to Baranpur village.
so the most of the activity are related with Tample, Gurdwara
and Mosque.In this village they have many god house…its show

village but widely they Celebrate Diwali, Holi ,Vasant panchami and etc.

ARCHITECTURE AND TRIDATION.
As long as we human in this world we can do many thing according to our own
Comfort. Some other things we can also think about tradition and culture that
Effect on Architecture side.
In this Asmanpur village they are rich in tradition.
As far we find that they have use
arches on there door and window.
They have flat roof with statue on it….
That statue can be ball ,
bird, farming activities and etc…
