1. Q6.What have you learnt about
technologies from the process
of constructing this product?
2. Blog:
To present our media course work we had to create a blog which all of my work will be put
on and is marked by doing this. The soft ware that I used to create my blog is called
blogger. I had not previously used blogger before which means I had less experience using
it and had to learn how to upload my work on to my blog.
While using blogger I learnt that this is
a suitable way to present work and
ideas. I also learnt how to change the
design of how your blog will look to a
viewer looking at it on the internet.
3. Pre Production: Research
To research my target audience of my magazine I used survey monkey. I found that
survey monkey is a good soft ware to use to create a survey as well as being able to
distribute it through social media (Facebook, twitted) and email it to people.
From using survey monkey I was able to get a good response to my survey and was
able to create a reader profile from the results I got. As well as finding out certain
aspects of a music magazine that people like to see in each copy.
If survey monkey was not available to use I think I would still be able to carry out a
surrey if a different way. However this will take more time and I may not be able to
distribute it as effectively.
4. Pre Production: Planning
While I was planning my magazine I used different technologies to be able to find
out the information I needed and was able to present it in the best way. The
software I used to present my planning was on PowerPoint, I did this because I
thought it would be the most suitable way to show my work.
During the planning of my magazine I also planning the photographs that
were going to be in magazine. To do this I had to google to research different
images from other magazines as an influence for mine.
5. Production: Photoshop
Before stating my magazine I had not had much experience
using photo shop software. This made it harder to do
creative things to add to my front cover, contents and
double page spread. However I soon learnt how to improve
the image that I wanted to use so that it would professional
and like it should be on a magazine.
From using photo shop I have learnt how to improve an
image by changing the levels and how brightness of an
image which improves the quality. If I was not able to use
photo shop for this project I would not have been able to
improve the quality to get a high enough standard for a
magazine.
6. Production: InDesign
Before I started my magazine I had never used InDesign
software before and had to learn how to do my double page
spread.
However as I learnt to use InDesign I found out that InDesign
and Photo shop work well together. For example you can
have an image placed in InDesign and able to edit it in photo
shop and it will automatically change in InDesign. This will
save time as well as making it easier to edit images while I
was working on my double page spread.
If I did not have access to this soft ward I would not have
been able to design my double page spread to a high quality.
This is because InDesign has the correct size that I need to
use as well as including the columns which I use to design the
layout of the page.
