1.
2. We added another home to our fundraising list. Dominga is a
single mom with 2 daughters. Combined with no work during the
pandemic and her daughter’s diagnosis with diabetes, Dominga
was left in a desperate situation. Her mother gave her permission
to build on top of her home. Fernando and Miguel went to assess
the situation and fundraising began in early March.
3. Pimenter
Family
Home
March 1 March 31
Fernando and Miguel’s team have made
great progress on the Pimenter home
during March. They are preparing for the
roof soon.
4. The roof has been poured and
parging is being completed in
Fernando and Vickyana’s new home.
5. After Ondina showed up one
morning at Amarilis’s home pleading
for our help with their family
situation, we raised money to add a
roof to their partly finished home.
Their child was recently diagnosed
with cancer and the situation has
left the family with no means to
continue building.
6. We were able to surprise Ana and
her family with a new home. She
had no idea that this blessing was
coming to her when she
volunteered to help us clean it for
the new owner. Thanks to Wade
and Kim Payne for changing lives.
7. Pal Humanitarian group
and some other volunteers
took down Daniel and
Mirlande’s home.
Demolition took place on
March 29.
8. After a long
wait we were
able to close
the deal on the
land for Jordy
Peralta and his
family. The
previous owner
lives in Canada.
The home will be built starting in April.
9. We visited a very modern
government high school in
the community of Imbert.
(Very modern for
Dominican standards.)
We found and amazing art
program where the students are
learning to produce items that
can be sold in tourist shops.
We listened to the music
class perform and
learned they only had a
guitar for instruments.
10. Later in the month, the music teacher
and 3 of the students visited our
center and we were able to donate a
keyboard to the school. This was one
of the ones donated by Tamara
Fackrell and family when they were
here.
11. Youth Upliftment School
We made frequent visits
to the school taking
guests and delivering
school supplies.
12. The crowning event for the school in March was that it received a
new paint job by volunteers from Pal Humanitarian.
We were also able to
present the director, Kate
with $1205 raised by the
Cardston Elementary
School for the upcoming
hot lunch program at the
school.
That was one of
the schools that
Kate visited on
her trip to
Southern Alberta
in 2019. It made
a lasting impact.
13. A young lady in the Dominican Republic received
a very surprise and welcome announcement that
she was the recipient of a full-ride scholarship
donated by Robin in Canada.
She started English school the very next day and
will be attending university in two years to study
architecture in Santiago.
Her father, Eddy told us that she had wanted to
be an architect since she was a little girl. They
never had a clue how they would get her to
university. Architecture is a very expensive
course. They didn’t want to kill her dream but
sometimes they would make suggestions to her
of something that would cost less but she always
insisted that architecture was her dream. They
are so, so grateful for this blessing.
14. Long-time educator, Dr. Darrel Hammon from Utah,
visited Puerto Plata with an amazing leadership course for
participants in Javillar and Torre Alta. About 120 people
took the course and received certificates. It is the first of
many educational and self-reliance classes we plan to
teach through the foundation.
15. Sharing food packs in Javillar. Thank you, Dr. Eric and Tagen McEntire and their volunteer crew.
16. Sharing Food Packs in Padre Granero. Thank you to volunteers from Pal Humanitarian
17. Sharing food packs in San Rafael de Yuma.
Thanks to our monthly donors and our volunteer Joan Perozo.
18. Volunteers from the community of Javillar
cleaned and organized our distribution
center after we arrived with 35, 50 lb. bags of
humanitarian supplies. (Another 30 arrived
later in the month as well)
19. We had a wonderful group from Utah who
came to do humanitarian Chiropractic
adjustments and doTerra Symphony of the
Cells massage in two different communities.
Hundreds of people received hands-on care
from this group of 15. They also brought 425
72 Hour Kits that were donated by doTerra
and distributed in the communities.
20. Care was given in the communities of
Javillar and Baraguana.
21.
22. Wade and Kim Payne
and Todd and Jodi
Marvell and families
spent much time
delivering baseball
and sports
equipment, backpacks
and more in the
community.
