2. Polished Fingers Fonts.
• The original plan for this was for the Polished
fingers to be written in a font which looked like it
was hand written. We thought it would be better
to get a font for the advert and the CD cover as
opposed to a photo of someone's handwriting
because it would be better in the form of design
style that we were attempting to follow.
• With this in mind we chose a few possible fonts
and went through them all to then outline the
best ones for the end product that we wanted to
create.

good fonts which will be
explained on the next slide.
5. This font looks a lot like hand written text, it has the swishes and the
flicks on the letters that we are looking for from a font. Unfortunately
it is slightly bold and thick which would have to be changed for our
designs, it can be done but it’s a slight hassle. Also the text is quite
manufactured which is a little bit bad for the style that we want from
the font that we pick for the final design.
We chose this font again because it looks lot like it was written by hand. The
good parts about it being that it is joined up, looks feminine which is the style
we are going for but again like the one above it is rather bold and thick and this
is something we would have to change if we were to use it. I think this font is
slightly better than the first one as it is thinner and looks less manufactured.
This font has a different style to the first two, it is slightly more messy which again gives
the impression that it was written by hand. Its much more compact than the other fonts
however this can be changed easily though Photoshop, the only real problem with this
one is that its quite bold but again this can probably be changed with some work.
This font is probably our favourite as it is the most like a hand written piece, the capital letters
are also very aesthetically pleasing and this is something that we wanted to achieve with the
font that we ended up using. The font being slightly less manufactured adds to the hand
written effect we will be going for making this font a very good choice.
This font is very good also, it looks like tis hand written and is quite rough with long
lines on certain letters adding o the aesthetic of the text a lot. The problem however
lies in the fact that the text isnt joint up and this is what we were going for, other
than that it is a very good font that we could have chosen.

6. This font had the simplistic look we were going for, however the font was a little simple and
looked quite boring. This means it would not effectively stand out on a poster. The difference
in the size of the words was also something that did not seem to work well as it makes the
text look accidently stretched rather than an intentional design that works well.
The layout of this font worked a lot better than the previous one. Changing the size of only the
first letters of each word looked a lot sleeker and made the name bolder to the reader. On the
other hand the filled in font looked a bit too cartoon for our liking, and therefore we decided
to discard this design as it didn’t suit our band.
This is the font we decided to go with in the end. This is because it incorporates the design
of using larger first letters well, but doesn’t look too cartoon like or unprofessional. The
simple slim design has a very memorable look to it, but is not too intimidating while the
larger first letters stop the font from being too unnoticeable.
We did not like the look of this font at all. This is because, despite being bold the font is too
‘in your face’, and therefore may draw attention away from the rest of the advert/CD cover.
Also the font’s design itself looks very unprofessional and would make our work look quite
tacky.
We also didn’t consider this font at all. This is because it has too much of an immature look
to it, meaning it wouldn’t suit our band (who have quite a serious image). The font also
would probably look out of place with the sleek design of our album cover and CD advert.
