LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND POSITIONS OF RESPONSIBILITY HELD
§ In August 2012, joined Zambian Breweries Plc. as Corporate Affairs Director with
responsibility for two other SABMiller subsidiaries; namely National Breweries Plc. and
Heinrich’s Beverages Ltd. Key achievements include:
- Successful lobbying of Government for excise tax breaks for soft drinks from 10% to
0% resulting in a 17% year-on-year volume growth for the Financial Year ended
March 2014.
- Successful lobbying of Government for new cassava-based beer that will be
launched in first quarter of 2015. The new Economy brand will allow the company
access the lower segment of the market.
- Successful implementation of a Responsible Alcohol Consumption programme in
partnership with the Road Transport & Safety Agency.
- Collaboration with GTZ and other key stakeholders on the ecological protection of
Itawa Springs in Ndola. The water source is the life-line for the company’s Ndola
plant and the surrounding communities.
- Successfully led the Management team in salary negotiations for unionized staff for
the 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 financial years.
§ Was appointed Head of Corporate Affairs for Zambia in August 2007 and in August 2008
was promoted to Area Head for Southern Africa in charge of overall Standard Chartered
Bank Corporate Affairs for Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana;
2. § In February 2006, within four months of being appointed Area Manager in Shared
Distribution, was promoted to Value Centre General Manager under Consumer Banking
with responsibility for Wealth Management. Key responsibilities included, among others:
- Managing over 50 sales staff in selling liability products under the Excel Banking
and Mass segments
- Formulation of pricing and sales strategies for liability products
- Development of liability products
§ Was appointed Area Manager in Shared Distribution under Consumer Banking in October
2005. Key Responsibilities included:
- Setting and monitoring budgets and reviewing performance reports for all the 15
Standard Chartered Bank Zambia branches at the time.
- Assisting the Value Centre General Manager in staff management issues, such as
appraisals of branch managers.
- Was a key resource in the planning, implementation and management of
distribution channels, including branches and ATM’s.
§ Was appointed Executive Assistant to the CEO in February 2004. Key responsibilities
included:
- Assisting the CEO in management of Governance meetings.
- Coordinating the various units/departments of the Bank in managing bank-wide
programmes and projects
- Managing communication and presentation documents from the CEO’s office
§ Was appointed Manager, Research & Planning in May 2001. Key responsibilities included:
- Formulation of participation strategies for the retail business. This included
competitor and market analysis, product price modeling, setting of budgets for
branches and branch performance monitoring.

DETAILS OF CURRENT RESPONSIBILITIES
As Corporate Affairs Director for the SABMiller subsidiaries in Zambia, I am responsible for the
strategic planning and implementation of:
· Corporate and Business communication programs. This includes all Internal and
external communication, Communication Channel management, Public Relations and
Crisis Communication Management.
· Government & Regulatory Relations and Thought Leadership. This focuses on programs
aimed at developing strong relations with key stakeholders for the purpose of
enhancing and developing the businesses’ License to Trade, influencing policy
formulation and creating a competitive advantage for the businesses.
3. - License to Trade programmes include initiatives aimed at promoting
Responsible Alcohol Consumption, such as programmes that discourage
underage drinking and also Drink & Driving
- In influencing policy, I am responsible for leading the businesses lobbying
activities for fair excise tax on products and for enactment of legislation that
promotes sustainable business growth.
- I ensure that new legislation is enacted or existing legislation is amended in line
with business objectives.
· Sustainability programmes that focus on ensuring environmental protection, Corporate
Social Responsibility and development of local sourcing programmes for brewing
inputs.
- I am spearheading programmes to ensure the business’ access to clean drinking
water. Examples are the Itawa Springs Protection programme in partnership
with GIZ, Kafubu Water and Ndola City Council; and the Lusaka water access
project with Lusaka Water & Sewerage Company.
- I am leading an initiative that is aimed at addressing the challenges of
packaging waste in Zambia.
- We have partnered with Zambia Federation of Associations of Women in
Business (ZFAWIB) to enhance entrepreneurial and business skills in women-led
SMEs. Over 500 women were trained in 2014.
· Brand Development plans with particular emphasis on brand management and
sponsorship programmes, particularly towards traditional ceremonies.

§ I was Vice-President of the Lions Club of Manda Hill in 2008/09
§ I have served as a member of the Sports Development Committee of the National Sports
Council of Zambia.
