Lynette Khan worked as my personal assistant (PA) for over 3 years at SAICA when I
worked in the Standards division. In her role as PA she was responsible for providing the
administrative and secretarial support on all my projects. Her responsibilities included
managing my diary, arranging meetings, administering documentation, responding
to/escalating queries as appropriate, maintaining committee databases, screening my
calls, preparing and submitting expense and travel claims and acting as my back-up on
urgent queries when I was out of the office. (At the same time, Lynnie reported to a
second project director and managed her managers effectively to ensure that all that was
required got done.
Lynnie is a bubbly, creative individual. In her role at SAICA her particular strengths were
liaising with our stakeholders in planning meetings and events. She is excellent at
building relationships and was repeatedly complimented by members who liaised with
her over the telephone.
A particular passion of Lynnie’s is organising events and she demonstrated this strength
repeatedly on a number of events that I ran. She liaised with presenters, secured venues,
resolved any problems that arose and assisted with the facilitation of the events on the
day. Lynnie was also invited to assist SAICA’s Seminars and Events department on some
of the events outside of the Standards division.
In her role Lynnie developed excellent working relations with SAICA staff, committee
members, stakeholders and SAICA members.
Throughout her employment at SAICA Lynnie lived the values of the organisation:
teamwork, leading by example, member (customer) service, respecting the individual and
integrity.
Lynnie was a critical support to me in my role and I would happily hire her again.
