• An aqueduct can be a
tunnel underground or a
raised platform.
• Without aqueducts, cities

• Concrete is a kind of manmade stone. Concrete can
be a very strong building
material
• The Romans began to use
concrete for much of their
buildings and roads.

Roman economic success.
• Roads made managing an
empire easier by having
better communication
across the empire.
• Many of Rome’s roads are
still used today

builders.
• Most of what the Romans
did they learned from
others (Greeks). What
made the Romans
different is they improved
upon existing ideas and
used them in very practical
ways that made every day
life better!
