2. Placed behind the
subject and this
separate them from
the background.
This helps soften the
shadows and is
normally placed on
the side of the
subject.
Lights up the subject
but this can create
shadows.
3. Gel: transparent gels that are
place in front of the light. This
helps balance colours
Lastolite: they aim to light dark
spots on subjects and diffuse
unwanted shadows
Barn Doors: these are lights with
shutters which can alter the
position of lighting.
4. Using Key lighting, lights up the
subject but also creates a
shadow. Using a red gel we
added a red effect on the image.
This mid close up, we tried to light
one side of the subjects face and
on the other side create a dark
side. We also used a green gel to
change the colour balance to
green.
5. Using fill lighting we created a mid
shot of the subject with a close up
of the subjects hand, we also
used a green gel to diffuse the
light.
Using key lighting and a red gel
we tried to create a shadow and
also creating a light and dark
sides on the subjects face.
