2. HIGH PRESSURE BOILERS
• High pressure boilers are steam generating
units that generate steam of high pressure 85
bar
• Modern high pressure boilers can generate
steam with capacities 30 to 1600 ton s per hour
for a pressure 210 bar and maximum
temperature 6500C
3.
4. LAMOUNT BOILER
• Forced circulation high pressure water tube steam
boiler with centrifugal pump which is driven by
steam turbine using steam from boiler outlet.
• Pump circulates water 8 to 10 times than the mass
of steam evaporated to prevent the tubes from
being overheated
• Capacity 45 to 50 tones per hour superheated
steam at pressure of 130 bar : temperature 5400C
5. ACCESSORIES OF LAMOUNT BOILER
• Steam Separator Drum
• Circulating pump
• Distributor Header
• Evaporator
• Economiser
• Super heater
• Air preheater
6.
7. BENSON BOILER
• To overcome the formation of steam bubbles in contact
with tube surface. This affect the heat transmission from
the flue gases to water.
• Boiler pressure is raised to critical pressure of water
221.2 bar. At this pressure, the density of water and
steam is same , so there is no bubble formation
• Capacity 150 tones/hour. 210 bar: 6500C
8.
9. LOEFFLER BOILER
• To overcome the deposition of salt and sediment on the
inner surface of water tubes occurring in Lamount boiler.
• This deposition reduces the heat transfer rate and steam
generating capacity.
• Due to reduction in heat transfer rate, tubes get
overheated as it has high thermal resistance.
• Prevention of water flow in the boiler tubes made in
Loeffler boilers.
• Most of the steam generated outside by evaporating feed
water by using part of superheated steam coming from
boiler.
10. • Capacity of boiler 100 tones/hour of
superheated steam at pressure of 150 bar :
temperature 5000C
