Total - made up of the whole
Quality - degree of excellence a product or service
provides
Management - act, art or manner of planning, controlling,
directing etc
Therefore “TQM is the art of managing the whole to achieve
excellence”

called total quality management”

 Groups should be encouraged to work closely and
effectively, and should focus on quality improvement
and customer satisfaction.
 Teamwork is the key to involvement and participation.
 Substantial inflow of resources, adequate training,
workforce participation and effective measurement
techniques are some of the key success factors.
