2. OUR STAFF

beautiful change of seasons and to unriddle secrets of simple things.
We believe that our invisible efforts will not be lost...“

7. “HOST SCHOOL FOR COMENIUS
ASSISTANT”
Our school successfully hosted Comenius assistants three times –
in 2011-2012, 2012-2013 and in 2013-2014.
Hosting a Comenius Assistant was a free, flexible and simple way to
bring the European Dimension to life for both staff and pupils in our
school. While the assistantship offered the Comenius Assistant the
opportunity to gain teaching experience in another European country,
the school benefited from a new perspective to teaching in school:
teachers could learn about and compare with another European school
system;
pupils enjoyed fun new activities and benefited from extra support where
needed;
the extra-curricular life of the school was enriched where the assistant had
shared their skills and interests;
pupils, staff and the local community could develop a deeper
understanding of another European language and culture;
assistant is a great way to establish European school links to develop or
implement future projects.
10. EVALUATION OF ASSISTANT‘S PRACTICE
In 2012 Education Exchanges Support Foundation awarded
our school for the highest Quality activity by school, hosting
the Comenius assistant in 2011.

Since September 1, 2010, our children participate in Zippy's
Friends. This international programme promotes the mental
health and emotional wellbeing of young children. It teaches
them how to cope with everyday difficulties, to identify and
talk about their feelings and to explore ways of dealing with
them.
All kindergarten groups willingly participate in annual Eco
project “Lidmania“
18. EXPERIENCE SHARING DAY “NOTICE ME“
Every year in December we celebrate
International Day of People with
Disability in our kindergarten. That
day we invite parents of the children
attending day social day care groups,
also colleagues special educators
and speech therapists from other
preschools of Kelme and other
districts. We observe and discuss the
activities of our children and
exchange ideas and knowledge
about how to improve our work with
children with disabilities.
19. eTWINNING ACTIVITIES

service organized training for our teachers about features
and capabilities of work on the European school community
platform in our school.
20. eTWINNING PROJECTS
Our preschool teachers and their children joined the projects „Carrot
party“ and “All animals talk“. Social, communication, ICT competence
of teachers and learners is developed through the projects. This is an
opportunity to find partners from different EU countries for long
cooperation projects.

21. SUPPORT OF THE
INTERNATIONAL CHRISTMAS
CHARITY BAZAAR
In June 2013 the kindergarten
applied to the International
Christmas Charity Bazaar for
support to obtain a massage tube
for disabled children. The
application was approved and the
kindergarten was granted with a
support in amount of 15000 Lt
after the Charity Bazaar.
The members of the organizing
committee of the Bazaar came to
make sure the grant has been used
for the right purpose.
22. WHAT DOES DIFFER US FROM OTHERS?
We are the only educational institution in our
district that provides education and day care
service for disabled pre-school age children.
There are two groups of disabled children
aged 2-7 years old in our kindergarten.
23. REGGIO EMILIA
We are interested in
innovations in
educational process.
Since September 2011
we use Reggio Emilia
elements during our
activities using light
tables.
Under the Reggio Emilia system, the child's intellectual skills are
being developed by developing of his/her expression, perceiving
the characters, enriching ethics, logic, and visual "language".
Teacher‘s mission is to create the environment that promotes
child‘s self-expression and self-development skills as well as to
observe each child's unique abilities.
24. WE CHERISH OUR TRADITIONS
Each second year we organize the
Kaziukas fair where we present
and sell our hand made things
and food. We invite our local folk
craftsmen to present the children
old traditions and crafts. We also
invite our parents, grandparents,
ex-pupils and other our next to
attend the fair.
