2. Definition
To put it simply, misogyny is the
discrimination and hatred against women. It
is a terminology that is frequently used to
characterize vile acts of abuse against
women. It all boils down to regulating and
punishing women who transgress
patriarchal standards and expectations or
who do not serve male interests (2022).
3. Negative Effects
How it affects our community:
● Spreads hatred and prejudice against
women
● Creates a stereotype
● Creating double standards
4. Points of discussion
Women Men
• Expected to stay home
with their mothers
• Help at home duties,
such as cooking and
cleaning
• No Education
• Could go out and play
• Ability to work and
provide
• No double standards
• Have more rights in
our community
5. (Catalunya, n.d.)
I have no money, no
job, and no power, yet
God has decided to
grant me authority
over you, woman.

6. Islamic View
● Unfortunately, Muslim men have taken
Islamic writings and scriptures out of
context to excuse their filthy behavior
against women does not help their
problem. Their sexist beleif that God
has veiled women and given them
(men) the liberty to go anywhere they
choose is a controversial ideology in our
religion.
● The main objective on why god
demanded that Muslim women wear the
hijab is that she doesn't fall into the
society norms where women are
sexulaised on a regular basis. We can
clearly see that there is no coloration
between the status of men and women
in Islam when it comes to the matter of
covering up. Men just want excuses for
their behaviors.
7. Reasearch from (Lyons, 2022)
90%
men agreed with the statement that
“a man should have the final word
about decision in the home”.
75%
Egyptian women thought married
women should have the same rights to
work outside the home as their
husbands
PERCENTAGE OF
GENDER INEQUALITY
50+%
Egyptian men surveyed agreed
that “there are times when a
woman deserves to be beaten”
8. According to a research (Lyons,
2022), a study looked into men’s
fears and mental health, and found
a key stress for men was the
challenge of finding paid work in
times of economic uncertainty,
particularly in those countries
affected by conflict.
Conflict and unemployment
were frequently cited as
contributing factors to male
depression. Because of a lack of
work or income, between one-
fifth and half of men reported
feeling ashamed to face their
families. This has lead to an
insecurity and built up anger
which they take out on women to
make themselves feel better.

9. Existing solution
● One solution to contribute is to form an
organization in each Arab nation that allows
women to speak out about their difficulties
because they are the ones who suffer the most.
They can create social media profiles with that
group and allow the girls to spread the message
and draw attention to their troubles. Furthermore,
they should contain hotlines where abused
women are free to contact at any time and try to
resolve their issue (abuse might be physical or
mental), and if it is serious, the police would be
notified. As a result, all Arab women will feel
protected, and their voices will be heard.
