What is Diabetes?
Diabetes is a disease that occurs when the blood glucose level also known as the “blood sugar” becomes very high. Blood glucose is extracted from the food we eat and is the main source of our energy. Then a Hormone called Insulin, helps absorption of the glucose into the cells of our body. The pancreas (a large gland behind the stomach) releases insulin and glucagon into the blood stream to help our body store and use the sugar and fat from the food we eat. Further, the glucose is converted into energy and used by our body to perform necessary vital functions.
Sometimes, a situation arise, when
the body does not make “enough” or
the body makes “no” insulin or
the body does not “use” insulin well.
In these situations, the Glucose stays in our blood and does not reach our cells.
Diabetes is a life-long disease that affects the way our body handles glucose, a kind of sugar, in our blood.
With passage of time, glucose levels keep on increasing in our blood. This can cause severe and “fatal” health problems and in simple terms it is known as Diabetes.

12. Aerobic exercise makes your heart and
bones strong, relieves stress and
improves blood circulation. It also lowers
your risk for type 2 diabetes, heart
disease and stroke by keeping your blood
glucoseThe food you eat gets digested
and broken down into a sugar your body's
cells can use.
15. Omega 3 fatty acid help
prevent clogging of the
arteries. Some types of
fish are high in omega-3
fatty acids.
16. Fish oil supplements could help
reduce the risk for type 2 diabetes, new
research suggests. The supplements, also
known as omega-3 fatty acids, increase
levels of a hormone called adiponectin
that's linked to insulin sensitivity, Harvard
researchers found.
20. “Both [smoking and diabetes] can
damage your heart and your circulation.
Both can raise your blood pressure and
your cholesterol levels.
Smokers also have a harder time
controlling their blood glucose levels,
because insulin resistance is increased
by smoking.”
24. Saturated fats provide a number of important
health benefits, including the following:
Mineral absorption, such as calcium
Acts as antiviral agent (caprylic acid
Provides satiety.
Carriers for important fat-soluble vitamins A,
D, E, and K
Optimal fuel for your brain
And many more.
