Ex: A company has two company codes.
Company code 1 uses operational chart of accountCOA1 and company code 2 uses operational
chart of account COA2. Both company codes prepare their ownfinancial reports using
operational chart of account. But forfinancial reports of company both financial data needs to
be consolidated. Since list of accounts in both company codes are different hence consolidation
becomes challenging. Here comes groupchart ofaccountto resolve this problem of
consolidation.

5. Tradepartner
Trading partner is your business partner within group with whom youare doing business. In
order to identify Inter Company transactions trading partner field is used.
Trading partner is used to consolidate and settle inter comp transactions both sales and
purchases,

6. Only balanceinlocal currency
If the Balance in Localcurrency (BILCO) Flag is set in the G/L Account master data
then SAP maintains the balance of the G/L Account in Local currency only.All the transactions
posted in foreign currency are translated to localcurrency using exchange rate type 'M'.
7. Taxcategory
The tax category allows entry of the tax classification indicator in the customer master data and
material master data. The tax category displayed in the customer master record depends on:
Customer sales organization's company code country.Country of each plant assigned to that
sales organization.

8. Postingwithouttax allowed
If there is no tax category in the GL accountdetails, the system will not ask fortax codefor line
items posted on this account.The BSET table will not be populated for the document. The
document display willnot contain the “Taxes” button.
9. Alternativeaccountnumber
Alternative account number forms part of a country chart of accounts whichis used forcountry-
specific reporting requirement.
3. Alternative account no is used when a country chart of accountsis assigned and every country
chart of accounts can only be used once.
But Trial Balance and FSV can be displayed with "alternative accountnumber" field by selecting
the alternative accountcheckbox in one of the input tabs.
10. Open item management
Open item is an item whichhas to be cleared withanother line item.
Open item management: how you want to manage the entire open item in particular GL A/C.
Open item management is the setting whichallows the setting to maintain the open items for
the particular GL account.

11. Line item management
Line items display to display the document line items fromthe account.For line item display,
the system lists all the line items for an account. For accountswith line item display, the system
uses special indices to define the link between the accountand the document.
12. Sortkey
Sort Keys are used to populate the Assignment number field in the line items of customers or
vendors or general ledgers. The content of this Assignment number field can be populated in a
customer or vendor or general ledger document when the document is created: either manually.

13. Fieldstatus group
Field status group means group of fields, it controls whichfield is required, Optional and surplus
14. Post automaticallyonly
Post automatically only means that this account can only be posted by the system using account
determination and the system will not allow posting the entries manually for this GL.
EX:stockand consumption accounts,GR/IR clearing account, sales tax, discounts
15. Supplementauto postings
This field refers that when you post accounting transaction based on automatic account
determination then you willhave option to insert account assignment like cost center, profit
center in the line item of this GL accountmanually.
4. Bank Charges line item has been created automatically, so you have the option to insert cost
center manually if field Indicator: Supplement forautomatic postings? Has been selected for
Bank charges GL Account,
Ex: When you receivepayment from customer of Rs 12,000 whichcontains Rs 200 a bank
charge then accounting entry will be.

16. Recon.Accountreadyforinput
Reconciliation accountready for input at time of posting - Indicator whichdetermines that the
reconciliation accountis ready forinput when posting a document. The indicator is used in
Financial Assets Management like when youmake initial load of the asset balances the balances
are being posted to Asset Sub-Ledger but not to the GL Account.
Hence, in such cases, youare required to Reset the Reconciliation Accounts in OAMK and post
the same entries into GL Accountthat youhave loaded to Asset Sub-Ledger and then again make
them as Reconciliation Accounts.
Note: On the other hand ReconciliationAccounts are only mean for posting by the System, but
when you select the "Recon. Accountready forinput", it wouldbecome like a normal account,it
will allow you to post directly, and this would invalidate the integrity of the data. Therefore,you
should never put the checkbox Reconciliation Accountready for input forRECONCILIATION
accounts.
