Standard Bank Challenge Programme – International research assignment-Canada
My financial qualification coupled with the robust training I received at Barlow World Toyota
Trucking Division, at the inception of career, served as the basis for the various senior financial
roles I played in various large companies in S.A. Such companies included Plessey
Corporation, Nedcor Bank, Telkom & Standard Bank.
The exposure gained through the Standard Bank Challenge Programme and the achievement
of an MBA with particular interest in the Six Sigma Philosohpy has contributed to me playing key
roles in the operations environment of the bank.
The roles included the introduction and build of the Change Management Capability for Bank
wide programmes, projects and continous improvement initiatives. Opening opportunities for me
to join the Standard Bank Africa team to head the Operations for West & Central Africa (Ghana,
DRC, Zambia, Malawi, and Nigeria). Currently Head of the Change Management Centre of
Excellence
I am a strategic thinker that has a keen interest in future business needs and possibilities. I’m
highly effective in developing and maintaining relationships. I maintain a high degree of
involvement with my team, while allowing my subordinates free reign where appropriate. I am
structured, well organised and have an ability to be self-reliant. I strive towards maximum
development of my own potential.
My approach to work is careful planning and a keen eye on progress to ensure targets are being
achieved. My problem solving style is gather relevant information and weigh up the pros and
cons. I am conscientious, persistent and disciplined.
