I had completed weeks of research for the company Stunning New Horizons Unlimited. I
have found and laid out multiple great ideas when it comes to transforming this business into an
online presence. I go into several details regarding F-commerce, and how it highly effects the
online business world. I also went into detail on comparing other popular clothing stores,
because finding out what other stores do poorly or great is important. In order to transform into a
successful business. It was interesting reviewing each store, they are all just alike which means
we need to be similar to be their competition. The most important section of this research project
was who we should higher and how to get our business started. You cannot start a business
without the employees running it for you efficiently. I hope you enjoy what I had come up with.
Creating an online business is a great idea, also a unique was to target customers. I did
my research on F-commerce, and found that it will strengthen our business significantly. F-
commerce is strategy that focuses on developing or designing ecommerce content and storefront
sites within the Facebook social networking site (Stroud, 2015). The ad will catch Facebook
user’s attention, and they will more than likely click on the link.
Social Media websites and other online means of communication that are used by large
groups of people to share information and to develop social and professional contacts
(Dictionary, 2015). Many businesses are using social media resources to promote their
businesses. There are four social media websites being used daily by billions. Facebook, twitter,
snapchat, and Instagram. These four websites are the areas to target for customers. The one I
have chosen to use for our company is Facebook. Facebook targets more users, because adults
are using it rather than the other three websites.
There are two options to choose from during the setting up process. Option one is
creating your own Facebook Commerce. F-commerce can take the form of shopping tabs, which
are part of a customized Facebook application that enables online retailers to publish a Facebook
storefront with add-to-cart buttons on Facebook Business Pages (Stroud, 2015). Word of mouth
is a good way to spread our businesses name. There is a way you can create a page for our
business, and if customers are pleased by us they will “like” it spreading the word for us. Option
two is the third-party options for F-commerce. Yet another form of F-commerce are third-party
Facebook Shopping applications that establish virtual storefronts for companies within
Facebook. This option is typically utilized by companies that lack the knowledge or time to
create complex Facebook apps themselves (Stroud, 2015). I did my research and have decided
option one will help your business significantly. The face that you can be on Facebook and see
our company on the side, and all you have to do is click on it. This will bring the user to our
website page.
I have done a lot of research reviewing other clothing websites. I looked at each web
pages and picked them apart. My main goal is to look for pros and cons of all five popular
clothing store websites chosen. The pros can be added to our new webpage being created, and
the cons we can look out for and improve in our company webpage. Below is a chart of different
of things I have picked apart in each website to compare.

The chart above provided information regarding comprising of each popular clothing
store. The clothing stores I have chosen to look into were Victoria Secret, Hollister, The Loft,
Abercrombie & Fitch, and American Eagle. Each clothing store is relatively expensive, but have
great quality clothes customers’ love. The Second column I compared each stores product
information given. It had shown that each website does provide information on each of their
products. This is an important thing to have on a clothing website, because our customers want to
know what their clothing is made out of, how much it cost, and where it is made from. I have
made note that we need to ensure we incorporate this in our webpage.
The third column provides information on filter organization for each company. A filter
is an easier way for the customer to find a certain product they are looking for. I looked into each
website and the filters differed in each. For example, The Loft offered a filter as color, size, and
size type. The four other stores offer style in their filter along with size and color. Filters are a
great tool to have in our webpage for customer convenience, and satisfying the customer always
makes for a great sale. In this column of information I have noted to make the filtering include
style, color, and size. I do not believe the size type would matter in our clothing store.
Column four is the related product information. This strategy is my favorite, each store
will add related merchandize to a webpage. For example, you pick out a shirt you like and right
below it you see a related product which would be a pair of jeans. This strategy is used among
each clothing store as a marketing strategy. It helps customers find a product that will either
match or one that many people have ordered. Popular clothing items can be identified using
related product information. This strategy I believe should be a top priority in our new online
website. This strategy can attract more sales due to its convenience for our customers.
Column five is sales and promotions occurring at the clothing stores. This is an important
technique to incorporate with any online clothing store. How to target customers would be by
giving them sales and deals. Each of the five popular clothing stores have some kind of
sale/promotion occurring each day. Having sales and promotions will increase your sales daily. I
believe our clothing store should offer a lot of different sales/promotions, maybe have something
new every other day.
Lastly, in every clothing store they offer their customers a chance to receive notifications
by email or text on the best deals. I have not seen one store yet who does not offer that. I think it
is a must to offer email notifications/texts to our customers. This will not only bring our
customer back it will also raise our sales for the day. This is a great strategy to use to increase
sales and customers.
Compatibility issues occur often when considering different options with a company.
Social media is the main source to try and make your company compatible. Billions of people in
the world use social media so this is where you need to start. Many online companies creates
apps for their companies to convenient customers. Billions of potential customers own smart
phones and find that apps are very convenient and are used every day. When a customer
downloads the company’s app, they are more likely to click on the app more often than typing in
the website. Their main priority is checking for sales and promotions, meaning you need to be
sure to include these on the online website. Another important thing to include is being sure your
website is compatible with any web browser. Safari, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox are
the top three popular web browsers.
When creating an online presence for a company you must consider two factors. In-house
or external IT resource and services such as cloud computing or companies that specialize in
hosting online stores. For our company I believe we should higher external IT resource and
services to run our online presence. I find this factor to be most logical for our company, because
being a new online presence saving money is the key. When you higher externally it means you
are employing other IT resources overseas. With that being said it is shown to save extreme
amounts of money in businesses. You only have to pay them a rate without including insurances,
high pay, and everything else that comes with benefits for an employee in American. The short-
term trade-offs of this factor would be that employing IT resources from a different county will
ensure they have a clue at what they are doing. Zero training would be involved for the
employee. Employing people who specialize in IT will ensure your company will be in good
hands. You do not have to worry about new trainees messing up, and creating problems. The
long-term trade-offs would include the risk of losing your IT workers at any time. They are not
technically your employees, you just high a company to help you out. The company chooses who
they think will best fit helping us out. At any time their company can move them elsewhere
taking them away from our business.
The long weeks of research made me an expert when it came to transforming a business
into an online presence. Searching for ways and alternatives provided me with great ideas when
starting the business. I hope all my research laid out great ideas for you to use in the process of
transforming Stunning New Horizons Unlimited into an online presence. As you can see there is
a lot of helpful information provided. I hope you can use a lot of this information provided
above. Thank you for your time!
