2. Introduction
Charles Warwick is a consultancy with a difference. We have been established to force the pace of change in the recruitment industry. We aim to deliver processes with greater transparency, allied with clear accountability over the cost of recruitment. We passionately believe in the value of a true consultancy approach and we also believe that we can save you money when hiring at management and executive level. We will provide bespoke solutions, led by the client company, to deliver results and service. Established in response to market research conducted about the attitudes to recruitment consultancies and the opaque nature of traditional search and selection firms, Charles Warwick is headed by Mark Gardiner. He has almost 20 years’ experience within the industry, initially training with a national recruitment PLC in the 1990’s, before building his career within independent and boutique firms.
Having spent time recruiting nationally as well as within the Yorkshire & Humberside region, working with a range of full and AIM listed PLC’s, SME’s and VC backed businesses, he has been on the front line of the “war for talent” for over a decade. A psychology graduate, part-time road cyclist, full-time dog walker and devoted father of two, Mark has founded Charles Warwick to dispel all negative preconceptions – both real and imagined – about this industry. Transparency, service and value lie at the heart of his business and his professional ethos.

Every company is unique, with different challenges and circumstances for recruitment. Key to a successful appointment is to understand these and work with the hiring manager and key stakeholders to ensure that the right person is identified and the best approach is undertaken to complete the campaign. Below is a small selection of recent appointments that highlight some of the work we have completed within the North of England.
4. A cornerstone of our business is how we price our services. Costs are reduced, but not results.
Commercial Model
Pricing Structure
•Costs are based on time and work required to complete the project
•Recruitment fees are not based on “percentage of salary”
•Our methodology will save companies 20- 40% compared to traditional recruitment fees
Search and Advertised Selection
•Our proposal will outline time taken to recruit and a capped fee is calculated based on £800 daily charge rate
•Fees paid in three instalments: one quarter on commencement, one quarter on short-list and the balance on appointment
5. Summary
Too often recruitment is viewed as a transaction, rather than an organic process. We look to partner with companies and develop a mutual understanding, building a business relationship that is based on honesty, feedback and flexibility.
We offer other, related services such as business intelligence, market research and recruitment out- sourcing – all charged on a daily rate basis. Face to face meetings will result in a “needs analysis” and advice on best approach to be undertaken.
