6. OBJECTIVES
1. Explain the safety precautions before,
during and after typhoon.
2. List down the precautionary measures
before, during and after typhoon.
3. Value the importance of learning about
the precautionary measures before, during,
after typhoon.
7. A typhoon is a giant,
rotating storm that
brings wind, rain, and
destruction.
Typhoons, or tropical
cyclones, have various
names depending on
their birth places in the
world.
8. Hurricanes, cyclones and typhoons are
all types of tropical storms. But what's
the difference between them?
They are all basically the same thing,
but are given different names
depending on where they appear.

over the North Atlantic Ocean and
Northeast Pacific.
Cyclones are formed over the South
Pacific and Indian Ocean.
Typhoons are formed over the Northwest
Pacific Ocean.

10. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and
Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA)
is the agency responsible for assessing and
forecasting weather, flood, and other conditions
essential to the safety and welfare of the people.
PAGASA also conducts research and
development projects related to atmospheric and
allied data.
12. Go to your respective groups.
Brainstorm and think of the precautionary
measures, as many as possible, that you
should be doing before, during, and after a
typhoon to minimize the damage caused by
typhoon.
