We treat a variety of clients, not just those who are active. You may participate in other tasks that are lees strenuous but still be in need of a massage
2. Desk Worker
Back pain caused by static posture
Probably 50% of the clients that we treat have back pain caused by the static
posture that comes with sitting at a desk all day. Although our specialism is
“Sports Massage” you definitely don’t have to be active in sport to benefit
from the treatments we provide.
A desk worker typically sits with rounded shoulders and their neck pushed
forward, experiencing the immobility that comes with staring at a computer
screen.
Over time, this position will be detrimental to the average posture and will start
to cause tension and pain.
In addition, sitting for long periods of time will disengage your buttocks so when
you then get up to move, your buttocks have switched off, causing other
muscles, usually hamstrings and lower back to overwork.
3. Runner
Regular massage keeps the muscles loose
Continual pounding of the pavements, whilst running, in an
attempt to get/stay fit could have an adverse effect on your
muscles and joints.
We’re not suggesting you don’t run but would recommend a
regular massage treatment to keep your muscles loose and
tension free.
It’s a tight muscle that is more at risk of injury and when a muscle
is tight, it can pull a joint slightly out of position, ultimately
causing pain.
Use massage as a prevention rather than a cure!
4. Dog Walker
Is your dog particularly energetic?
Walking the dog may not sound energetic but done
regularly will certainly work and maybe overwork the
muscles in your legs and buttocks.
In addition, if your dog is particularly energetic, the
continuous movement of them tugging on the lead
could and does cause shoulder and upper back
injuries.
5. Skier
Prepare for your active holiday
For many of us, skiing is purely recreational. Whether you are up
with the first ski lift and don’t return until dusk or you prefer to
be a bit more sedate on the slopes, your body can still feel as if
it has taken a beating.
Your muscles become over-worked which can develop into
tightness and soreness.
Prepare your body for your active holiday by ensuring the muscles
are loose and ready to function.
Post-ski trip massage is vital to relieve the muscle and joint
soreness caused as a result of continual strenuous exercise.
