This document discusses personalized tasks and anonymous peer feedback in electrical engineering fundamentals courses. It describes how individualized circuit analysis problems are generated and distributed to students along with sample solutions. Students submit their own solutions, which are then anonymously reviewed by peers. Evaluation found high student participation rates and that the approach prepares students well for exams without direct teaching to tests. Challenges included poor image quality in some submissions and the workload, but students felt informed about the process. Overall the personalized tasks and peer review were seen as an effective activation and exam preparation technique.

Idea
Personalizable tasks for handwritten solution:
▶ handwritten −→ authentic, low-threshold for formulas, schematics, diagrams,
misconceptions become visible
▶ personalized −→ no plagiarism possible
▶ peer review −→ no correction effort −→ good ready-made personalized
sample solution
▶ via Moodle, Feedback Fruits and e-mail −→ scalable, no „red tape“

Task (same for all)
Nodal analysis shall be used to calculate the three nodal voltages UKn1, UKn2 and
UKn3 between the respective node and the reference node.
a) Draw the three nodal voltages UKn1, UKn2 and UKn3 in the circuit diagram
(3 points).
b) Set up the system of equations to calculate the nodal voltages using nodal
analysis in matrix form (9 points).
c) Insert the values of the components into the system of equations (1 point).
d) Solve the system of equations and thus calculate the three nodal voltages
UKn1, UKn2 and UKn3 (3 points).

Round Table Discussion on Evaluation and Further Development
1. Do the personalised additional tasks make you feel well prepared for the
performance assessments and the exam?
2. How do you classify the degree of difficulty of the tasks (also in comparison to
the examples in the lecture, the other exercises and the tasks in the
performance review or examination)?
3. How do you assess the clarity and comprehensibility of the tasks/sample
solutions?
4. How do you estimate the workload (also in comparison to other courses)?

Round Table Discussion on Evaluation and Further Development
5. How do you assess the fairness of the mutual evaluation?
6. Do you find the assistance (detail and precision of the sample solution, listing
of typical errors) in the mutual evaluation sufficient?
7. Do you feel well enough informed about the procedure (processing time,
submission modalities, deadlines, etc.)?
8. How do you evaluate the technical handling (sending the tasks by e-mail,
submission via the learning management system Moodle)?
