3. Time management is possible?
Although, motives of time control or time travel are very
popular in our culture, eg in movies, in books etc, time on
earth is a phenomenon which we can not control. That's
why time management is simply impossible. If we want to
somehow organize our activities we are doing during the
day, we must learn to manage ourselves.
4. What is time?
I think it's hard to find a man on earth who does not feel the
existence of time phenomenon. Despite this, it is extremely
difficult to define what we have to deal with. Unfortunately,
there is no simple definition of what is time. Many people
say, that is an immaterial continuum related with a past,
present and future. Psychology says the time is an intuitive
form that can be felt by every human being.
5. What is time management?
It is hard to manage something which does not have a
material dimension. The human mind at the subconscious
level may be aware of the fact that time can not be
controlled and sabotage any efforts in this respect.
Therefore, above all you have to focus on ourselves and on
arranging your daily schedule. It is worth considering how
our daily routine looks like, how much time we devote to
our responsibilities and how much on other things that are
not necessary.
6. Responsibility for your actions
You're the only person who can take responsibility for plan
of your day. Most people in developed countries have great
opportunities to manage their own lives. We can earn
money in many ways, we can decide about our education,
who we want to be in life. We have a large freedom of
action, compared with the inhabitants of third world
countries who often do not even have the possibility to
leave their countries. You must use this chance to take life
into your own hands.
7. Procrastination problem
Procrastination is usually the biggest obstacle in managing
time. I do not know any person who has never experienced
this problem. The biggest impact on procrastination has the
amount of our responsibilities. The more we have to do the
bigger chance that the putting off everything problem
reaches us. Postponing everything for later psychologically
affects us in a very negative way. Seemingly we have the
impression that we can get some rest, in fact the whole
time we realize that we would have sooner or later to deal
with the matter.
8. Our everyday life
I often meet people who are not satisfied with their jobs.
They are usually bored everyday life, and do not have
enthusiasm to change this. They are usually bored
everyday life and don’t have enthusiasm to change this.
That's what we do on a daily basis is very important from
the time management point of view. If in our life, we are
doing what causes us satisfaction and joy, then much
easier come to us perform our daily tasks. Responsibilities
are pleasure for us not torment and something what we try
to avoid.
9. Dreams are helpful
If you want to efficiently manage your time and achieve
your goals, you need to have the right motivation. Many
people are motivated by a stick, for example, seeing the
negative consequences of not fulfilling their duties. It is an
effective method, however, I propose you something nicer.
Each of us has dreams and the things which would like to
achieve in life. Let your dreams become a driving force that
will motivate you to action.
10. Find a desire
Following your dreams, what I suggested you earlier, will
allow you to kindle a desire to achieve your goals. As for
me, it is a much more effective way to achieve my
objectives and motivation for action.
11. Setting goals
The ability to properly determine purpose is another very
important thing in time management. Often when we
decide something, our goals are vague and not fully
defined. Through this, we have a lot of problems with their
realization. You must learn to properly define goals.
Without this you will not be able to assess whether your
actions bring you to your destination or not.
12. Be SMART
Smart method is probably one of the most popular methods of
achieving goals. The letters in the name of the method mean
parameters of our purpose.
I.Specific - your goal should be specific and clearly defined. Too
general objectives are not conducive to their realization
II.Measurable - you need to find a way to assess at which point your
way to the goal you are
III.Ambitious - goal should cause you satisfaction when you reach it. If
the goal is for you indifferent, that's for sure will not affect well on its
realization
IV.Realistic - goal must be realistic. Of course you should be ambitious
but do not believe in fairy tales
V.Timely manner - when specifying your goal, or manage time, you
have to determine date of your purpose execution
13. Effectiveness
When you set your goal you have to focus on the process
of its implementation. Efficiency is the most important thing
in the process of time management. Take care of your
work environment that nothing will distract you. Besides, a
good way to increase efficiency is proper timing. For more
on this, see the article on time management. When it
comes to uptime, you should take a break every 25
minutes. This will greatly enhance your effectiveness and
save time.
14. 80/20 rule
Pareto Principle is closely related to economics of our
actions. About 20% of our activities should generate 80%
of results. So in short, when we are working on reaching
some goal to comply with this rule will allow us to quickly
and efficiently realize our goals. The assumptions of this
rule are very important for time management. Think about
what you usually do on a daily basis. What activities are
most important from the standpoint of time management.
15. Final Word
I hope this presentation will significantly improve quality of
your time management. I have discussed in this
presentation, the key issues that will help you achieve your
goals and be more effective in your actions. It is worth
spending some of your time to implement the guidelines
that have been discussed here. This investment will
certainly pay for itself in the future.
