3. The building is an International Passenger Terminal Building for the
Government of Botswana and the CAAB (Civil Aviation Authority of
Botswana). Total 20,000m2 in area and has state of the art special
systems and airport technology. NACO-SSI JV were commissioned
in 2007 for the design and detail design as well as construction
management of a new terminal building at Sir Seretse Khama
International Airport (SSKIA).

the Bronberg Nature Conservation area.
Our experience in clean room design
assisted in designing the complicated
detail of laboratories, which are
accredited to test export seeds for maize
and wheat exports. The office buildings
accommodate both Agricultural
Technology and supporting tenanted
workplaces and future flexibility
provided. Sustainability: design
measures implemented in terms of
Green belt servitude provided as open
pace for nature conservation, a
Conservation area specifically for a red
data species ‘Juliana Golden Mole’ also
provided. Environmental Management
Plan monitored during construction and
rehabilitation of Green Belt Reserves.
Energy and water saving measures
implemented: Solar screen and light
shelves were introduced to screen north
sun angles and reflect natural light. The
building envelope insulated with cavity
filled polystyrene and double glazing on
some facades. Energy mass-storage is
accommodated for the winter sun angles
with deep cavities filled with fly-ash.

back. The total area of the building is
800m² with carports adding to the

space were being constructed in
accordance with the contract
documents and that the project was on
schedule.

21. Urban Design Framework for new
precinct. Role involved design and three
dimensional BIM modelling, animations
as well as sustainability input to the
precinct utilizing renewable energy and
water re-use opportunities.
Part of architect’s responsibilities was the
setting up of architectural guidelines for
the precinct

deck with overflow parking for showrooms and service areas of
double storey concrete structure. Project included the corporate
signage and façade to freeway aesthetics and electrical
engineering. Limited space adjacent to freeway application for lifting
