The community doesn't rise? Community redesign and engagement booster tools. According to CMX Media recent report - Increasing the involvement of community members is *the biggest* frustration of community managers. From what I've managed to see, most of the causes for the engagement challenge, are because the community wasn't planned thoroughly. Community managers often start with opening the community space and approaching relevant members, BUT those 2 are the last things we should do, those are just the technical things which are done after we have planned the foundations of our future community. This is why my colleague Tehiya Ben Zur and I gave a lecture about 2 solutions that help community managers to build vibrant communities. 1st is re-designing the community with the "Community Canvas" framework, which I call the "Business Plan" of the community. The way I see it, managing a community has a lot of similarities to managing a business. In the same way, as we make a plan for our business, we should also make a plan for our community. 2nd is what we call "Engagement Boosters", technical systematic methods that work for us over and over again to encourage involvement in our communities.
