• Artificial intelligence (AI) is an area of computer science that
emphasizes the creation of intelligent machines that work and
react like humans.
• Some of the purpose of the artificial intelligence in computer are

• Artificial intelligence is a branch of computer science that aims
to create intelligent machines.
• It has become an essential part of the technology industry.
• Highly technical and specialized research is on going in this field.
• The core problems of artificial intelligence include programming
computers for certain traits such as:
• Perception
• Learning
• Planning

• Problem solving
• Knowledge engineering is a core part of AI research.

5. HISTORY
• AI was coined by John McCarthy, an American computer
scientist, in 1956 at The Dartmouth Conference where the
discipline was born.
• It has achieved great demand recently due, to big data, or the
increase in speed, size and variety of data business.
• AI can perform tasks such as identifying patterns in the data
more efficiently than humans, enabling businesses to gain more
insight out of their data.

6. TYPES OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
• AI can be categorized in any number of ways, but here are two
examples.
• The first classifies AI systems as either weak AI or strong AI.
i. Weak AI, also known as narrow AI, is an AI system that is
designed and trained for a particular task. E.g.:- virtual
assistant like Apple’s siri, Google assistant, Alexi etc.
ii. Strong AI, also known as artificial general intelligence.

9. DISADVANTAGES OF AI
• The AI is programmed to do something devastating.
• The AI is programmed to do something beneficial, but it
develops a destructive method for achieving its goals.
• High cost

10. FUTURE SCOPE OF AI
• Smarter gets redefined with the advances in sensor, cloud and
machine learning technology, and pushes the boundary of
smarter homes, cars, infrastructure and just about everything.
• Deep learning approaches allow processing of raw data
including images, speech and natural language.
• Intelligent automation combines automation with artificial
intelligence.
