2. Have you ever experienced
this?
O Being teased
O Name calling
O Being threatened
O Physical harm (hitting, pushing, shoving, etc)
O Personal space being invaded
O Personal property being taken or stolen
O Rumors being spread
O Being excluded purposely
O Being bossed around

3. If so…
You have been a victim of bullying which is
not a tolerated behavior and is considered
unacceptable!

4. But what can I do?
O First understand and know that it is not
your fault!
O Talk to an adult (teacher, parent, school
staff)
O Do not get physical with the bully (no
hitting, etc.)
O Do not ignore the behavior, it may get
worse

5. Why do kids bully?
O Social acceptance
O Lack of discipline at home with parents
O Harsh, physical discipline
O Low self-esteem
O Modeling behavior from video games

6. Well…Let’s Do Something
About It!
O Help students understand what bullying is
O Always keep the communication open
O Model how to treat kids with kindness and
respect
Schools can…
O Assess bullying and discuss with students
O Educate youth and parents
O Create policies and rules against bullying

7. Just Be Yourself!
O Be true to yourself and do not let anyone make
you feel ashamed of who you are.
O Being in good company helps you to be a good
person and want to always do the right thing.
In the words of the Dalai Lama…
“Be kind whenever possible. It is always
possible .”
