Visual merchandising can be simply defined as the physical presentation of products. It is the coordination of all physical elements of a business to project the right image. Visual merchandising has increased tremendously in importance with the growth of self-service retailing. Good to marketing & presenting is merchandising, which attempts to maximize sales and profitability by inducing consumers to buy a company’s products.

Student of Dezyne E’cole College ,www.dezyneecole.com Fashion design is a form of art dedicated to the creation of clothing and other lifestyle accessories. Modern fashion design is divided into two basic categories: haute couture and ready-to-wear. The haute couture collection is dedicated to certain customers and is custom sized to fit these customers exactly. In order to qualify as a haute couture house, a designer has to be part of the Syndical Chamber for Haute Couture and show a new collection twice a year presenting a minimum of 35 different outfits each time. Ready-to-wear collections are standard sized, not custom made, so they are more suitable for large production runs. They are also split into two categories: designer/createur and confection collections. Designer collections have a higher quality and finish as well as an unique design. They often represent a certain philosophy and are created to make a statement rather than for sale. Both ready-to-wear and haute-couture collections are presented on international catwalks.

Read Case Study 6 and respond to question 2. Your response should be at least one page long and conform to APA Version 6 standards. If you have questions about APA Version 6 standards, refer to the Syllabus for instructions about accessing an APA tutorial. Below is the grading rubric used for this case study: Criteria Points Case Study Submitted case study and addressed all questions asked in assignment. Each case study presents one or more questions for analysis and explanation. A quality response fully answers the question or questions asked. 25 points APA Standards Written response conforms to APA format (in-text citations and references as required, punctuation, headings, paraphrasing, seriation). At a minimum, focus on in-text citations, sentence punctuation, seriation rules, and reference list construction. You should list and cite the text, as appropriate, when responding to case study questions. 3 points Spelling and Grammar Submitted assignment was checked for spelling and grammar errors. 2 points CASE STUDY 6 Exploring Innovation in Action Sewing up the competition – innovation in the textile and clothing industry Manufacturing doesn’t get much older than the textile and clothing industry. Since the earliest days when we lived in caves there’s been a steady demand for something to wrap around us to keep warm and to protect the more sensitive bits of our anatomy from the worst of the elements. What began with animal hides and furs gradually moved into a more sophisticated activity with fabrics woven from flax or wool – and with people increasingly specialising in the business. In its early days this was very much a cottage industry – quite literally people would spin wool gathered from sheep and weave simple cloths on home-made looms. But the skill base – and the technology – began to develop and many of the family names we still have today – Weaver, Dyer, Tailor, for example – remind us of the importance of this sector. And where there were sufficient cottages and groups of people with such skill we began to see concentrations of manufacturing – for example, the Flemish weavers or the lace makers in the English Midlands. As their reputation – and the quality of their goods – grew so the basis of trading internationally in textile and clothing was established. The small-scale nature of the industry changed dramatically during the Industrial Revolution. Massive growth in population meant that markets were becoming much bigger whilst at the same time significant developments in technology (and the science underpinning the technology) meant that making textiles and clothing became an increasingly industrialised process. Much of the early Industrial Revolution was around the cotton and wool industries in England and many of the great innovations and machinery – such as the Spinning Jenny – were essentially innovations to support a growing international industry. And the growth of the industry fuelled scientific research and led to devel.

The products are usually so expensive and valued much higher than the cost to produce them so that it limits access to the brand. The brand is only accessible at certain places. For example, the products are only available at an exclusive boutique. A premium luxury brand only sells a few products they make very well, often limited supply and the products are one-of-a-kind. Lastly, the customer can’t immediately purchase the product, there may be a wait (Michael, 2013). Luxury Brand: More people can purchase products from a luxury brand because the price point is not as high as a premium luxury brand. The price is determined by the quality of the product. A luxury brand can be found everywhere, in many stores all over the world. A luxury brand invests money in advertising to many people, where premium luxury brands often do not advertise. Luxury brand product lines can be broad and have many different products. Luxury brand products are often mass-produced to make as a much and sell as much as possible. Lastly, luxury brand products can be bought and enjoyed right away. There isn’t usually a wait to recievereceive this product (Michael, 2013). Van Cleef and Arpels Section 1: Introduction: Van Cleef and Arpels is a high-end luxury jewelry brand around the world based in Paris. The company is known specifically for jewelry but also for watches and perfume. They use flowers in many of their collections. Section 2: History: Van Cleef and Arpels is a historic jewelry company that’s that is based in from Paris, France and was they startedfounded in 1896. OPR 300 – Operations Management Case Study Supplying Fast Fashion Contrast the approaches taken by H&M, Benetton and Zara in managing their supply chains. Consider the following focus points: 1. How do they differ in terms of their approach to design stage of the supply chain? 2. How do they differ in terms of the manufacturing stage of the supply chain? 3. How do they differ in terms of the distribution stage of the supply chain? 4. How do they differ in terms of the retail stage of the supply chain? 5. For each brand, Identify and explain a SCM strategy or trend utilized in its supply chain. 6. In your opinion, which of the three companies have the best SCM and why? Working individually, analyze the “supplying Fast Fashion” case study and present your analysis in a report. Your work will be assessed according to the linked rubrics on blackboard. You are encouraged to use online sources to support your analysis/recommendation. Make sure to properly reference those sources in your report. The report should address all the questions raised in the case study. Please use appropriate headings and subheadings where necessary. The report should consist of the following sections: Title page Executive Summary Introduction Discussion Recommendations References Please conform to the following: • The report should be limited to 3-4 pages (700-1000 words) excluding title page and references • Use Times New Roman 12-pts font and 1.5-line spacing • Use the APA referencing style • Number each page consequently 2 Supplying Fast Fashion Garment retailing has changed. No longer is there a standard look that all retailers adhere to for a whole season. Fashion is fast, complex and furious. Different trends overlap and fashion ideas that are not even on a store’s radar screen can become “must haves” within six months. Many retail businesses with their own brands, such as H&M and Zara, sell up-to-the-minute fashionability at low prices, in stores that are clearly focused on one particular market. In the world of fast fashion, catwalk designs speed their way into high-street stores at prices anyone can afford. The quality of the garment means that it may only last one season, but fast-fashion customers don’t want yesterday’s trends. As Newsweek puts it, “being a quicker picker-upper” is what made fashion retailers H&M and Zara successful. They thrive by practicing the new science of “fast fashion”, compressing product development cycles as much as six times. But the retail operations that customers see are only the end part of the supply chains that feeds them. And these have also changed. At its simplest level, the fast-fashion supply chain has four stages. First, the garments are designed, after which they are manufactured. They are then distributed to the retail outlets, where they are displayed and sold in retail operations designed to reflect the busi.

Raising capital is a pivotal process for any startup. This document outlines the vital phases every entrepreneur must navigate to transform an idea into a flourishing business. This resource provides a clear, detailed map of the funding landscape, from early angel rounds to the final stages before an IPO. Key Highlights from the Document: 1) Pre-Seed and Seed Funding: These initial stages are crucial for getting your startup off the ground, focusing on proving your concept and building a minimum viable product (MVP). 2) Series A to C Funding: As startups progress, funding rounds grow larger and focus shifts from proving viability to scaling the business, enhancing market share, and possibly even preparing for global expansion. 3) Bridge and Mezzanine Financing: These less common but crucial stages provide the necessary capital to bridge gaps between major funding rounds or prepare for a public offering. 4) IPO: The ultimate goal for many startups, going public opens new avenues for capital and provides liquidity for early investors.

Building Moonshots In today's rapidly evolving world, many industries have experienced disruption or are on the cusp of one. While organisations often discuss the importance of innovation and disruption for growth, it's not uncommon to find ourselves defaulting to familiar patterns and maintaining the status quo. To thrive amidst this change, businesses of all sizes must adopt strategic foresight not as an option but as an essential strategy. Developing strategic foresight enables organizations to anticipate and proactively respond to future challenges, ensuring they remain adaptable and resilient in an ever-changing landscape. By moving beyond "business as usual" thinking and embracing innovative approaches, companies can position themselves for long-term success.
