An historic time for
public sector leaders
Questions have arisen over the past years
regarding the role of government, particularly
in the wake of ‘keystroke revolutions’ in the
Mid-East and North Africa, economic crises, rising
unemployment, population shifts and the threat
of climate change. Perhaps now more than any
other time in history, there is truly a case for
reinventing government. A recent study by the
World Economic Forum points to the need for
FAST (flatter, agile, streamlined, tech-enabled)
governments that can navigate these challenging
times by operating in public-private-non profit
networks that coproduce public value.
Over the past 12-years, we have been working with
clients to deliver transformative change focused on
enabling FASTer organizations, with primary focus across
the following areas:
Government Modernization | Government mandates,
new technologies and target operating models typically
provide the impetus for change. Transforming an
organization involves not only the hardwired structure
and technical processes, but also behaviours and mindset
of employees. Information hoarding, divisional rivalries,
frustrated and disillusioned tenure staff and paternalistic
management styles are some examples of where
reforms are necessary. Organisational transformation
requires special programmes that enable management
and staff to work proactively and collaboratively. We
work with organizations to re-examine their strategies,
culture, structures and practices to create an agile
architecture that moves away from silo-ed compartments
and toward collaborative networks that spans across
the organization. Finally, in accelerating government
transformation, we help decision-makers develop new
metrics focused on performance management
and benchmarking – which is a necessary condition

recruitment and salaries, in most cases without any real
reduction in the level of service. We help organizations
