Philosophy
Love, Habits, Education – I teach and coach to build, practice, and
exemplify loving relationship, to help boys and girls develop
healthy habits, and to give them tools they need to craft their own
futures.

Defensive Coordinator, Osseo High School, 2008-2015
WINNINGEST PROGRAM in the Northwest Suburban Conference since becoming D-coordinator.
6A STATE CHAMPION 2015. With eight starters less than six feet tall, and only one who earned an athletic
scholarship (D2 basketball), coordinated a defense that held three state tournament teams at or just over
their season lows in points scored in any other games they’d played.
Conference champion and state tournament qualifier 2013. With nine starters less than six feet tall, and
with only one who earned a football scholarship (D2), shaped an inspired and successful group described by
the Minneapolis Star-Tribune in separate articles as “fast and creative,” “high energy,” “quick,” and “tough.”
Helped increase student participation in football dramatically. With one of the smallest student
populations and highest poverty rates of all 6A schools, began recent seasons with as many as 100 juniors
and seniors, and as many as 90 freshmen and sophomores.
Instructed fellow coaches, dialogued with, presented to, in MN and IA coaches’ communities.
Defensive Coordinator, Park Center High School, 2000-2004
Helped increased student participation through “recruiting the community” efforts.
Coordinated off-season after school lifting/conditioning program.
