WORK HISTORY
04/2007 to Present EDS/Hewlett Packard (HP)
Systems Engineer, Server Platform (Manager Terry Sharp)
Supporting the Engineering Department as a member of the Server Platform team for NMCI (the largest computer
network in existence), I provide engineering solutions, technical documentation, and support for multiple technologies
including Vmware Vsphere installations, W2K8 Server OS, HP C7000 Blade implementation, Print Management,
Information Assurance (IA), and Patch Management amongst others. I was actively involved in both the engineering
and implementation of the Vsphere 4.1 upgrade and Site Recovery Management (SRM) solutions.
Recently I was a key player in the successful rollout of XenServer Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Solution, for
which I received a “Certificate of Appreciation”. My role was to coordinate with the Engineering teams (SERVER,SAN,
Network, IA scan, Firmware Engineering, and Collaboration), and to design, develop and document the step-by-step
configuration of the C7000 architecture for use within the VDI Solution. I then flew out to Washington DC to configure
the HP C7000 Blade enclosures for the Pilot Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), where my achievements were well
recognized.
I also coordinated with all of the NMCI engineering groups, and authored the Engineering Process Guide, ensuring
data-flow between groups, and identifying and correcting gaps in the process. As author, I keep up to date with
changes and document process changes, and ensure no new gaps are introduced.
2. Currently I am engaged in creating the architecture and documentation to upgrade Vmware from Vsphere 4.1 to
Vsphere 5.5. I also assist in keeping the Hardware catalog up to date to ensure server hardware solutions are
implemented in development such that old generation hardware in production never go EOL, and ensuring the life -
cycle is monitored and updated. I also manage the server hardware firmware updates, ensuring the latest firmware
updates are tested in development and implemented in production to mitigate IAV, and ensure server functionality.
