during the COVID-19 Crisis

JCI’s role in raising awareness
• Launch an online campaign to provide your
national or local communities with correct and
timely information related to the virus and
encourage them to take part in social
distancing.
• Launch a podcast for your National or Local
Organizations discussing important issues that
matter to your community.
JCI’s role in raising awareness
• How to process information during COVID-19 ;
ensure the sources are reputable and legitimate.
• JCI needs to play an important role in raising the
awareness that there is a future following this
pandemic. We need to use this as an avenue to
build more awareness of the Global Goals.

• Create online events to create better teams
• networking events,
• happy hour events, awards, book clubs,
• discussions, debates,
• cooking sessions, meditation, work out sessions
• Host online workshops so that your members
can still learn while staying at home.
• JCI Official Courses, & those done by members
• Coordinate with Specialists in university and in
Practice - Udemy

• Transform already existing projects and
activities to have online aspects in it.
• Develop Training on Crisis management
• Let us make use of the time to sharpen our
saws
• Find a way to contribute to others online-

• Everything can be adapted to be held online!
• Meetings for members, board, committee or a
project group, trainings, panel discussions,
brainstorming, TED talks, workout, coffee
breaks, pub quiz. Seek for variety + FUN!
• Free tools vs. paid applications and video
networking platforms
• Google Hangouts Meet (up to 1000 people),
Skype, Zoom, Teams, ClickMeeting…
• Tips and ideas for sessions
• Members need to be engaged. Use video
networking platforms.
• Remember the benefits of parliamentary
procedure.
• Now is the perfect timing for planning the future!

• Encourage members to keep healthy - physically
and mentally - while at home.

What JCI can do on the
ground?
• Create a fund to respond the global crisis.
• Recognise and support the efforts of first
responders and essential workers in this crisis.
• Look for specific needs, created by the current
situation and find solutions.
• Provide information for foreigners living in your
city/country, who does not speak the local/national
language.
• Create blood donation campaign.
What JCI can do on the
ground?
• Provide most vulnerable with basic supplies
(food, medicine, etc.).
• Help with legal advices those who would need
such.
• Help people with jobs matching in finding
alternative jobs relevant to them.
• Help the local business by providing alternative
solutions for them.
• Pre-book or voucher project for local businesses.
• Simply follow the SDGs.
Partner outreach and ACF
• Research who the active Coronavirus
response organizations are in your
community and offer to partner with them to
achieve their goals more productively.
• Encourage your members to participate in
online events of other National or Local
Organizations if there is no language barrier.
This is the best way to encourage
international interaction while at home.

• Join another project, initiative. We want to be an
organization that unites all sectors of society… Let’s do
it by showing how it is done. Also, this is yet another
step to support the SGD 17 (Partnerships for the
Goals). I believe this is one of the SDGs that JCI is
capable of having a great impact on.
• Joining/collective efforts across Local and National
Organizations - eliminates the possibility of multiple
organizations seeking sponsorship or support from
various donors.

• Use the ACF on a smaller scale to plan for the
future
• Start making a list of things that the community
will need to help transition out of this crisis
• Make a list of partners - but don’t just make it,
reach out to them and keep that
communication open for when this is over, they
know to call on your Local Organization to
assist.
• But be realistic, don’t over sell you LO.

• How to prepare for Visits Online
• VP’s will have difficulty traveling for a period of time
• It does not mean however that vp’s will not connect
and communicate with National Organizations and
finding creative ways to do so during this crisis:
online interviews with donors/ sponsors, online
media exposure, training sessions, motivational
videos, etc
Partner outreach and ACF
• Partnerships are essential and will play a large part in
how we recover and emerge from this type of crisis.
• JCI should take the time to reconnect or engage other
NGOs and private sector companies.
• Review opportunities for collaboration, reach out to
these organisations and organise online brainstorming
meetings during which we promote the ACF as a key
tool for them to develop/consolidate partnerships
aligned with government support to help communities
recover quickly from this pandemic.
Using the crisis to recruit members
• Review your types of membership and brainstorm on
revising your recruitment process.
• Utilise social platforms to encourage participation in online
events and activities. Remember persons may have
more time available.
• Be innovative ...Motivate members to actively promote
online events (formal and informal).
• Run efficient events and programs which are relevant
and new members will be inspired to join.
JCI Strategy & Review
• Impact, Motivate, Invest, Collaborate, Connect
• Review and evaluate your Local Organization and
National Strategic Plan - Are they aligned to JCI’s
Strategic Plan?
• Project and Programme Evaluation: Are they
relevant? Are they sustainable? Do they align to your
goals? Ask the difficult questions
• Brainstorming is critical to maximize impact in the future.
Redefine your organisation. Engage your members
JCI Strategy & Review
• Implement or Revise Social Media Strategy:
• Evaluate your website and social media platforms - Are
they up to date?
• Be relevant and develop an engagement strategy to keep
member attracted
• Plan for the future. Develop ideas of the vision you
want for your organisation after the pandemic
• How will you be the organisation that unites all sectors
of society within your community?
Mental Health
• Keep in mind the mental health of your
fellow members. Apart from being leaders, we
are people too.
• Create online activities to alleviate depression
and mental issues that might arise due to long-
term confinement or isolation during this
period.
Tips
• Test your ideas on a smaller scale.
• Show the meaning of real leadership. and
lead by example.
• Have fun. Find ways to enjoy this time.
• Be constantly present online.
• Learn from others.
• Identify and understand other people
behaviours during the crisis.
Tips
• Plan for the future by learning (from) the
present.
• Look for the new opportunities to come
and be ready to take them.
• Be creative, be innovative in the solutions
you provide.
• Be brave, be bold in your actions.
• Keep in mind that every action matters.
As the world is encountering this hard time, we
have an opportunity to demonstrate our
leadership skills and be part of the support
movement that we are witnessing on all levels.
We are all in this together; our unity is the only
way to overcome this pandemic. We have been
trained to be active citizens, our skills and values
are highly needed in these troubled times! It is the
time to show our members and the world what
JCI can do on every level!

JCI’s role in raising awareness • Launch an online campaign to provide your national or local communities with correct and timely information related to the virus and encourage them to take part in social distancing. • Launch a podcast for your National or Local Organizations discussing important issues that matter to your community.

JCI’s role in raising awareness • How to process information during COVID-19 ; ensure the sources are reputable and legitimate. • JCI needs to play an important role in raising the awareness that there is a future following this pandemic. We need to use this as an avenue to build more awareness of the Global Goals.

Online individual and business development • Create online events to create better teams • networking events, • happy hour events, awards, book clubs, • discussions, debates, • cooking sessions, meditation, work out sessions • Host online workshops so that your members can still learn while staying at home. • JCI Official Courses, & those done by members • Coordinate with Specialists in university and in Practice - Udemy
  • 6. Online individual and business development • Transform already existing projects and activities to have online aspects in it. • Develop Training on Crisis management • Let us make use of the time to sharpen our saws • Find a way to contribute to others online- Design training

Conducting membership meetings online • Everything can be adapted to be held online! • Meetings for members, board, committee or a project group, trainings, panel discussions, brainstorming, TED talks, workout, coffee breaks, pub quiz. Seek for variety + FUN! • Free tools vs. paid applications and video networking platforms • Google Hangouts Meet (up to 1000 people), Skype, Zoom, Teams, ClickMeeting… • Tips and ideas for sessions

Use video networking platforms. • Remember the benefits of parliamentary procedure. • Now is the perfect timing for planning the future! - Personal, professional and JCI • Encourage members to keep healthy - physically and mentally - while at home. Conducting membership meetings online

What JCI can do on the ground? • Create a fund to respond the global crisis. • Recognise and support the efforts of first responders and essential workers in this crisis. • Look for specific needs, created by the current situation and find solutions. • Provide information for foreigners living in your city/country, who does not speak the local/national language. • Create blood donation campaign.

What JCI can do on the ground? • Provide most vulnerable with basic supplies (food, medicine, etc.). • Help with legal advices those who would need such. • Help people with jobs matching in finding alternative jobs relevant to them. • Help the local business by providing alternative solutions for them. • Pre-book or voucher project for local businesses. • Simply follow the SDGs.

Partner outreach and ACF • Research who the active Coronavirus response organizations are in your community and offer to partner with them to achieve their goals more productively. • Encourage your members to participate in online events of other National or Local Organizations if there is no language barrier. This is the best way to encourage international interaction while at home.
  • 12. Partner outreach and ACF • Join another project, initiative. We want to be an organization that unites all sectors of society… Let’s do it by showing how it is done. Also, this is yet another step to support the SGD 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). I believe this is one of the SDGs that JCI is capable of having a great impact on. • Joining/collective efforts across Local and National Organizations - eliminates the possibility of multiple organizations seeking sponsorship or support from various donors.

Partner outreach and ACF • Use the ACF on a smaller scale to plan for the future • Start making a list of things that the community will need to help transition out of this crisis • Make a list of partners - but don’t just make it, reach out to them and keep that communication open for when this is over, they know to call on your Local Organization to assist. • But be realistic, don’t over sell you LO.

Partner outreach and ACF • How to prepare for Visits Online • VP’s will have difficulty traveling for a period of time • It does not mean however that vp’s will not connect and communicate with National Organizations and finding creative ways to do so during this crisis: online interviews with donors/ sponsors, online media exposure, training sessions, motivational videos, etc

Partner outreach and ACF • Partnerships are essential and will play a large part in how we recover and emerge from this type of crisis. • JCI should take the time to reconnect or engage other NGOs and private sector companies. • Review opportunities for collaboration, reach out to these organisations and organise online brainstorming meetings during which we promote the ACF as a key tool for them to develop/consolidate partnerships aligned with government support to help communities recover quickly from this pandemic.

Using the crisis to recruit members • Review your types of membership and brainstorm on revising your recruitment process. • Utilise social platforms to encourage participation in online events and activities. Remember persons may have more time available. • Be innovative ...Motivate members to actively promote online events (formal and informal). • Run efficient events and programs which are relevant and new members will be inspired to join.

JCI Strategy & Review • Impact, Motivate, Invest, Collaborate, Connect • Review and evaluate your Local Organization and National Strategic Plan - Are they aligned to JCI’s Strategic Plan? • Project and Programme Evaluation: Are they relevant? Are they sustainable? Do they align to your goals? Ask the difficult questions • Brainstorming is critical to maximize impact in the future. Redefine your organisation. Engage your members
  • 18. JCI Strategy & Review • Implement or Revise Social Media Strategy: • Evaluate your website and social media platforms - Are they up to date? • Be relevant and develop an engagement strategy to keep member attracted • Plan for the future. Develop ideas of the vision you want for your organisation after the pandemic • How will you be the organisation that unites all sectors of society within your community?
  • 19. Mental Health • Keep in mind the mental health of your fellow members. Apart from being leaders, we are people too. • Create online activities to alleviate depression and mental issues that might arise due to long- term confinement or isolation during this period.
  • 20. Tips • Test your ideas on a smaller scale. • Show the meaning of real leadership. and lead by example. • Have fun. Find ways to enjoy this time. • Be constantly present online. • Learn from others. • Identify and understand other people behaviours during the crisis.
  • 21. Tips • Plan for the future by learning (from) the present. • Look for the new opportunities to come and be ready to take them. • Be creative, be innovative in the solutions you provide. • Be brave, be bold in your actions. • Keep in mind that every action matters.
  • 22. As the world is encountering this hard time, we have an opportunity to demonstrate our leadership skills and be part of the support movement that we are witnessing on all levels. We are all in this together; our unity is the only way to overcome this pandemic. We have been trained to be active citizens, our skills and values are highly needed in these troubled times! It is the time to show our members and the world what JCI can do on every level!
