Preface
Industrial visit make students understand the subject to its core. It also gives idea to
students about their job profile once they start working. Industrial visit in the entire field
have same procedure where students are given introduction of the particular
organization, they are taken along to all the departments, and thus in charge of particular
one's explains about it. Students are asked to note down everything because at the end of
visit, there is small Q and A session which they need to undergo. Many organizations
also asked their students to write about the visit as a part of assignment.
This Project has been prepared as a part of the Pune University course curriculum. The
topic for this project “A STUDY OF INDUSTRIES IN INDIA”, I found very
interesting and educative. I gained knowledge about some of the HR aspects and also
Retail Operations. A practical exposure of working in an organization; although for a
brief period will however benefit me in the long run. This experience will be treasured
by me always.
Most of the people are trying to engage themselves in this sector. Before entering in this
sector one should have knowledge of an overview of how this industry and market
operates. This project is carried out to translate the theoretical knowledge of the HR,
Industrial Relations & Labour Law subject in to the practical field work.
Keeping this in mind, it is the matter of great privilege and satisfaction for me to present
this report before the readers. I am sure this attempt of presentation will bridge the gap
between theory and practice.

1. INTRODUCTION:-
Industrial visit is a vital part of the curriculum. It helps to bridge the gap between
classroom and the real working world. The visit also provides first-hand knowledge
about the organizational structures and modes of operation in different industries. The
scope of industrial visit varies according to courses. Media students visit newspaper
office, news channel, printing press as a part of industrial visit. Business student's visits
big industries where they are exposed to the process of manufacturing including
packaging and distribution. HR and operation management students visit all type of
organization and study functioning to each department in detail. Engineering students
are taken to different companies and industrial sites as a part of IV. Aeronautical
students visit air lines and aviation industries, they also get chance to visit planes and jet
and understand each part of it.
Many organizations
also asked their students to write about the visit as a part of assignment
It build up interest for boring subject and also work as get together for students and
teachers. Thus colleges and universities should give more importance to it and take it
seriously so that it will help making student a better employee and prosperous his career.

1.1) INTRODUCTIONTO PRINCIPALOF
MANAGEMENT :-
Management principles are guidelines for the decisions and actions of managers. They
were derived through observation and analysis of events faced in actual practice.
The Principles of Management are the essential, underlying factors that form the
foundations of successful management. According to [Henri Fayol] in his book General
and Industrial Management (1916), there are fourteen 'principles of management'. These
can be used to initiate and aid the processes of change, organization, decision making,
skill management and the overall view of the management function.
Division of Work
The specialization of the workforce according to the skills of a person , creating specific
personal and professional development within the labour force and therefore increasing
productivity; leads to specialization which increases the efficiency of labour. By
separating a small part of work, the workers speed and accuracy in its performance
increases. This principle is applicable to both technical as well as managerial work,. this
can be made useful in case of project works too. Planning is to decide what to do before.
Authority and Responsibility
The issue of commands followed by responsibility for their consequences. Authority
means the right of a superior to give enhance order to his subordinates; responsibility
means obligation for performance. This principle suggests that there must be parity
between authority and responsibility. They are co-existent and go together, and are two
sides of the same coin. and the authority must be commensurate with responsibility
Discipline
Discipline refers to obedience, proper conduct in relation to others, respect of authority,
etc. It is essential for the smooth functioning of all organizations. This will also help
shape the culture inside the organization.
Page | 7
Unity of Command
This principle states that every subordinate should receive orders and be accountable to
one and only one superior. If an employee receives orders from more than one superior,
it is likely to create confusion and conflict. Unity of Command also makes it easier to fix
responsibility for mistakes and the authority should be commensurate with responsibility
Unity of Direction
All those working in the same line of activity must understand and pursue the same
objectives. All related activities should be put under one group, there should be one plan
of action for them, and they should be under the control of one manager. It seeks to
ensure unity of action, focusing of efforts and coordination of strength.
Subordination of Individual Interest
The management must put aside personal considerations and put company objectives
first. Therefore the interests of goals of the organization must prevail over the personal
interests of individuals.
Remuneration
Workers must be paid sufficiently as this is a chief motivation of employees and
therefore greatly influences productivity. The quantum and methods of remuneration
payable should be fair, reasonable and rewarding of effort. Remuneration is paid to
worker as per their capacity and productivity. The main objective of an organization is to
maximize the wealth and the net profit as well. For this purpose, the organization has
paid wages, salary, and benefit to their staff properly and scientifically so that
organizational efficiency can be ensured.
The Degree ofCentralization
The amount of power wielded with the central management depends on company size.
Centralization implies the concentration of decision making authority at the top
management. Sharing of authority with lower levels is called decentralization. The
organization should strive to achieve a proper balance.
Page | 8
ScalarChain
Scalar Chain refers to the chain of superiors ranging from top management to the lowest
rank. The principle suggests that there should be a clear line of authority from top to
bottom linking all managers at all levels. It is considered a chain of command. It
involves a concept called a "gang plank" using which a subordinate may contact a
superior or his superior in case of an emergency, defying the hierarchy of
control. However the immediate superiors must be informed about the matter
Order
Social order ensures the fluid operation of a company through authoritative procedure.
Material order ensures safety and efficiency in the workplace. Order should be
acceptable and under the rules of the company
Equity
Employees must be treated kindly, and justice must be enacted to ensure a just
workplace. Managers should be fair and impartial when dealing with employees, giving
equal attention towards all employees.
Stability of Tenure of Personnel
The period of service should not be too short and employees should not be moved from
positions frequently. An employee cannot render useful service if he is removed before
he becomes accustomed to the work assigned to him.
Page | 9
Initiative
Using the initiative of employees can add strength and new ideas to an organization.
Initiative on the part of employees is a source of strength for organization because it
provides new and better ideas. Employees are likely to take greater interest in the
functioning of the organization.
Esprit de Corps
This refers to the need of managers to ensure and develop morale in the workplace;
individually and communally. Team spirit helps develop an atmosphere of mutual trust
and understanding.
Key Roles
Fayol also divided the management function into five key roles:[1]
 To organise
 To plan and forecast (Prevoyance)
 To command
 To control
 To coordinate

PEOPLE BEHIND :
Marathe Infotech Pvt. Ltd. is the brainchild of Mr.Vasantrao Marathe, a visionary,
who pioneered the concept of Industries directory, way back in 1971. With a
humble beginning of printing local industry directory in 1971, he steadily spread
the reach to other industrial towns in Maharashtra. With every passing year, the
client base & the acceptance of Maharashtra Industries Directory grew by leaps &
bounds, as industry users found the directory to be the authentic source of
information to procure & meet their requirements
When Mr.Vinay Marathe, himself a Technocrat - Textile Engineer from
SASMIRA, took over the legacy, he carried forward the mission with same zeal.
With the advent of IT & Internet, he propelled the business into the technology
era. Mr.Vinay Marathe, with his foresight, exploited the technology to its fullest,
by infusing new methods & processes like web designing, website promotion,
SEO etc. He set up a complete team of IT professionals to meet the ever-growing
needs of our clients.
It is Mr.Vinay Marathe's foresight that paved the way to MAHATech Industrial
Exhibition. He created a perfect platform for the SME industry Segment to cater
to their business generation needs. MAHATech is now striding into its 11th
edition at Pune in 2015 again.

smart ALERT
smartALERT is a tablet based multipurpose home automation system.
This wall mounted android tablet device can help secure your home
and provides many additional features to automate your home. This
tiny little device attached to your wall can make your life easy and
secure.
smartALERT Controler (SAC) LAN:
smartALERT controller is a slave device which is always remains in
listen mode to accept connection request fromsmartALERT Tablet.
This device is currently implemented as a slave device which is not
capable to do any function by itself. smartALERT controller will act
as a bridge between sensors, electrical controllers, telephone line etc.
the connection between SAC and the Tablet is established through a
W-LAN connection. SAC is listening on a TCP/IP portand capable of
accepting a single incoming connection. smartALERT application
running on the tablet PC will repeatedly try to establish connection
with SAC through the configured IP address. Onceit establishes the
connection, smartALERT application will continuously ping the SAC
to determine its status.
SAC is equipped with 433 MHz RF receiver which is listening for any
sensorto trigger. Once it detects a valid sensor trigger it just pass the
sensoraddress to the smartALERT application through the already
established TCP/IP connection. It is then the responsibility
Page | 26
of smartALERT application to determine the validity of the sensor
triggered and initiate the Alarm Sequence.
SAC is also capable to command electrical devices through its
433Mhz transmitter. Depending on the commands received from the
SA it generate the proprietary RF protocolsignals to command the
devices. The electrical devices to be controlled from the SA must be
equipped with a device controller which is capable to receive the
command generated by the SAC.
smartALERT Controller (SAC) USB:
The USB version of SAC is a comparatively cheaper option. The only
disadvantage of this system is that the tablet must have a USB port
and the SAC to be connected directly using a cable which makes it
little inconvenient to fix it.SAC functions the same as described in the
case of LAN version except it uses a serial interface.
smartALERT Controler Remote
Configuration :-
This is a very convenient configuration where SAC and SA can
connect over internet. This will allow user to keep SA on a tab or a
mobile and monitor a remote location.
This method will be very useful when you want to monitor your office
from your home or while you are on move. The great advantage is that
in case of an alarm, user can monitor cameras immediately to
determine the threat.
In order configure SA in this mode, it is recommended to have a static
IP at the premises. Even though it can
work with Dynamic DSN a Static IP and a stable internet can make
the system more reliable.

HYDRAULIC PRESSES:-
Since the hydraulic press works on the basis of Pascal's Law, its working is
similar to the one of the hydraulic system. A hydraulic press consists of basic
components used in a hydraulic system that includes the cylinder, pistons, the
hydraulic pipes, etc.The working of this press is very simple. The system
comprises of two cylinders, the fluid (usually oil) is poured in the cylinder having
a small diameter. This cylinder is known as the slave cylinder.
The piston in this cylinder is pushed so that it compresses the fluid in it that flows
through a pipe into the larger cylinder. The larger cylinder is known as the master
cylinder. The pressure is exerted on the larger cylinder and the piston in the
master cylinder pushes the fluid back to the original cylinder.
The force applied on the fluids by the smaller cylinder results in a larger force
when pushed in the master cylinder. The hydraulic press is mostly used for
industrial purposes where a large pressure is required for compressing metals into
thin sheets. An industrial hydraulic press uses the material to be worked upon
along with the help of the press plates to crush or punch the material into a thin
sheet.
A hydraulic press is used for almost all industrial purposes. But basically it is
used for transforming metallic objects into sheets of metal. In other industries, it
is used for the thinning of glass, making powders in case of the cosmetic industry
and for forming the tablets for medical use.

PRODUCTS :-
REINFORCED FLOORS AND ROOF SLABS:-
These types of materials are used to avoid increases in thickness of the
flooring with a leavening of the costs of the cls. Prevent post-shipment cracks
due to withdrawals of Jet concrete or radiant plate applications. Reduce the
problems of incorrect installation of reinforcement.
The fibers can be used in ferrous material, polypropylene or polyester depending
on your needs.
Added by plant still together aggregates and water mixture to be used
subsequently already mixed with the cls.
Processing requires particular attention to the dough to ensure an even distribution
of fiber throughout the concrete.
The surface finish of the floor requires a good care to avoid the affioro of parts of
the fibres.
Thick fibre-concrete significantly increases traction characteristics and partially
integrates tradition Available in the sizes from 1M long to 4M long in preferable
increment of 0.50M. Thickness varies from minimum 125 mm to 200 mm
depending upon the Superimposed load on the slab and span.al armor.

Partitionwalls:-
A partition wall is a wall for the purpose of separating rooms, or dividing a room.
Partition walls are usually not load-bearing.
Partition walls may be constructed with bricks or blocks from clay, terra-cotta or
concrete, reinforced, or hollow. Glass blocks may also be used.
They may also be constructed from sheet glass. Glass partition walls are a series
of individual toughened glass panels, which are suspended from or slide along a
robust aluminium ceiling track. The system does not require the use of a floor
guide, which allows easy operation and an uninterrupted threshold.
Timber may be used. This type of partition consists of a wooden framework either
supported on the floor below or by side walls. Metal lath and plaster, properly
laid, forms a reinforced partition wall. Partition walls constructed from fibre
cement sheeting are popular as bases for tiling in kitchens or in wet areas like
bathrooms. Galvanized sheet fixed to wooden or steel members are mostly
adopted in works of temporary character. Plain or reinforced partition walls may
also be constructed from concrete, including pre-cast concrete blocks.
Metal framed partitioning is also available. This partition consists of track (used
primarily at the base and head of the partition) and stud (vertical sections fixed at
600mm centres).
Internal wall partitions also known as office partitioning is made using
plasterboard (drywall), or varieties of glass. Toughened glass is a common option
as it is feasible however there is also low iron glass better known as opti-white
glass which increases light and solar heat transmission.
Panels available in length: 1.0 Mtr.to 3.0 Mtrs. in increment of 0.24 Mtr and
thickness from 75 mm to 100mm.

Advantages Of Siporex:-
LIGHT WEIGHT :
Oven dry density of Siporex is 400 to 650 kg/cum, i.e. Just 1/4th the weight of
dense concrete and 1/3rd the weight of conventional clay bricks. Due to light
weight, the dead load on foundation as well as on supporting structure reduces,
thereby saving in concrete and steel. Also due to lesser width of Siporex blocks,
more carpet area will be available in the same built up area.
HIGHLYINSULATING :
Cuts the peaks of heat and cold to provide economy in the working of air
conditioning. K value 0.122 Kcal/Hr/(M degree centigrade) makes it suitable as
insulation material.
HIGHLYFIRE RESISTANT AND INCOMBUSTABLE:
Siporex products are highly fire resistant & offers twice the fire protection of
concrete. Siporex blocks are able to withstand the standard fire for 240 minutes.
ISI MARK & NORMS :
Being a factory made, quality of Siporex products is assured. Siporex products
have BIS norms and markings. Siporex slabs are conforming to IS 6073 and
Siporex blocks are conforming to IS 2185 (Part 3).
HIGH STRENGTH TO WEIGHT RATIO :
For Siporex 18 to 22 against 16 for M15 grade concrete.
WATER REPELLENT & LESS WATER PENETRATION :
All reinforced Siporex products are made water repellent and un-reinforced
products have little water penetration due to Siporex structure being closed cells
leading to less capillary action. Moreover, high surface activity allows for fast
evaporation of moisture.
Page | 51
SOUND ABSORPTION :
Sound absorbency of air borne sound for 3” & 4” walls is 38 to 40 db, hence, it is
ideal for auditoriums and theaters and for cutting off workshop sounds from
offices.
COMFORTABLYWORKED :
Siporex is workable like wood. It can be drilled, chiseled or nailed using simple
carpentry tools. Thus, it simplifies plumbing, electric work, fixing joinery etc.
ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY :
Siporex eliminates use of timber as centering and shuttering is absolutely not
required for placing the Siporex slabs. Thus Siporex helps to save the forests.
Also it eliminates the use of bricks which consumes valuable fertile soil required
to grow food for our vast population.

Conductor:-
INCAB judiciously selects continuously cast rods for high
annealibility & conductivity. If special rods are required the same can
be obtained from its own rolling Mill where Copper or Aluminum
used for the conductors is obtained in ingot or wire – bar form &
subjected to close scrutiny for composition, purity &free from defects
quality. The virgin material is processed into rods under controlled
conditions in INCAB's own Rolling Mill or continuous casting proper
zinc plant. The rods after testing are drawn into wires in the Wire
Mill. These wires are formed into the final conductor in the stranding
machines under strict quality assurance programs.
Insulation
The conductors prepared are then insulated either by extrusion or
taping; insulation is applied by extrusion by using the appropriate
PVC compound.
Core identification
Cores shall be identified by different colouring of PVC insulation by
adopting different schemes. For cables having more than 5 cores, as
an alternative for the provision as above, the core identification may
be done by numbers. In that case, the insulation of cores shall be of
the same colour & numbered sequentially, starting with number 1 for
the inner layer. All the numbers shall be of the same colour which
Page | 61
shall contrast with the colour of the insulation. For reduced neutral
conductors, the insulation colour shall be black.
Filler& inner sheath
In cables consisting of two or more cores, the individual cores are laid
up & then surrounded by a common covering either by extrusion or by
wrapping of tapes. The normal practice is to use PVC either extruded
or taped coverings, the grade of PVC being chosen to be compatible
with the temperature rating of the cable. For normal installations PVC
tapped inner sheath is sufficient, but in cables installed in water –
logged areas or for added protection, extruded inner sheath may be
specified. PVC fillers are included between laid-up cores, where
necessary.
Armouring
The following types of armour may be applied:
1. Galvanised round steel wire
2. Galvanized formed wires
3. Non-magnetic armour of aluminum, aluminum alloy or copperwires
for single core cables, used in A.C circuits.
Cables can be supplied with double armouring of steel wires or steel
strips to obtain added longitudinal strength & mechanical protection,
e.g, of mining cables, cables in shaft, etc. further, conductance of the
armour can be increased, if required, by replacing some of the steel
wires/ formed by hard drawn tinned copperwires.
Outer Sheath
This is extruded over the armoured cables & over the inner sheath for
unarmoured cables. Special PVC compounds canbe used for the outer
sheath, to suit a variety of environmental & fire-risk conditions.

Page | 1 A Project Report on “INDUSTRIAL EXPOSURE” A STUDY OF INDUSTRIES VISITED IN INDIA FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2014-2015 SUBMITTED IN PARTIAL FULFILLMENT OF THE BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION SECOND YEAR COURSE CURRICULUM OF Savitribai Phule Pune University SUBMITTED TO AKI’S POONA COLLEGE OF ARTS, SCIENCE & COMMERCE Under the guidance of Prof. Absar baig Prepared by:- Shaikh Mouizz 3212
  • 2. Page | 2 Preface Industrial visit make students understand the subject to its core. It also gives idea to students about their job profile once they start working. Industrial visit in the entire field have same procedure where students are given introduction of the particular organization, they are taken along to all the departments, and thus in charge of particular one's explains about it. Students are asked to note down everything because at the end of visit, there is small Q and A session which they need to undergo. Many organizations also asked their students to write about the visit as a part of assignment. This Project has been prepared as a part of the Pune University course curriculum. The topic for this project “A STUDY OF INDUSTRIES IN INDIA”, I found very interesting and educative. I gained knowledge about some of the HR aspects and also Retail Operations. A practical exposure of working in an organization; although for a brief period will however benefit me in the long run. This experience will be treasured by me always. Most of the people are trying to engage themselves in this sector. Before entering in this sector one should have knowledge of an overview of how this industry and market operates. This project is carried out to translate the theoretical knowledge of the HR, Industrial Relations & Labour Law subject in to the practical field work. Keeping this in mind, it is the matter of great privilege and satisfaction for me to present this report before the readers. I am sure this attempt of presentation will bridge the gap between theory and practice.

  • 6. Page | 6 1.1) INTRODUCTIONTO PRINCIPALOF MANAGEMENT :- Management principles are guidelines for the decisions and actions of managers. They were derived through observation and analysis of events faced in actual practice. The Principles of Management are the essential, underlying factors that form the foundations of successful management. According to [Henri Fayol] in his book General and Industrial Management (1916), there are fourteen 'principles of management'. These can be used to initiate and aid the processes of change, organization, decision making, skill management and the overall view of the management function. Division of Work The specialization of the workforce according to the skills of a person , creating specific personal and professional development within the labour force and therefore increasing productivity; leads to specialization which increases the efficiency of labour. By separating a small part of work, the workers speed and accuracy in its performance increases. This principle is applicable to both technical as well as managerial work,. this can be made useful in case of project works too. Planning is to decide what to do before. Authority and Responsibility The issue of commands followed by responsibility for their consequences. Authority means the right of a superior to give enhance order to his subordinates; responsibility means obligation for performance. This principle suggests that there must be parity between authority and responsibility. They are co-existent and go together, and are two sides of the same coin. and the authority must be commensurate with responsibility Discipline Discipline refers to obedience, proper conduct in relation to others, respect of authority, etc. It is essential for the smooth functioning of all organizations. This will also help shape the culture inside the organization.
  • 7. Page | 7 Unity of Command This principle states that every subordinate should receive orders and be accountable to one and only one superior. If an employee receives orders from more than one superior, it is likely to create confusion and conflict. Unity of Command also makes it easier to fix responsibility for mistakes and the authority should be commensurate with responsibility Unity of Direction All those working in the same line of activity must understand and pursue the same objectives. All related activities should be put under one group, there should be one plan of action for them, and they should be under the control of one manager. It seeks to ensure unity of action, focusing of efforts and coordination of strength. Subordination of Individual Interest The management must put aside personal considerations and put company objectives first. Therefore the interests of goals of the organization must prevail over the personal interests of individuals. Remuneration Workers must be paid sufficiently as this is a chief motivation of employees and therefore greatly influences productivity. The quantum and methods of remuneration payable should be fair, reasonable and rewarding of effort. Remuneration is paid to worker as per their capacity and productivity. The main objective of an organization is to maximize the wealth and the net profit as well. For this purpose, the organization has paid wages, salary, and benefit to their staff properly and scientifically so that organizational efficiency can be ensured. The Degree ofCentralization The amount of power wielded with the central management depends on company size. Centralization implies the concentration of decision making authority at the top management. Sharing of authority with lower levels is called decentralization. The organization should strive to achieve a proper balance.
  • 8. Page | 8 ScalarChain Scalar Chain refers to the chain of superiors ranging from top management to the lowest rank. The principle suggests that there should be a clear line of authority from top to bottom linking all managers at all levels. It is considered a chain of command. It involves a concept called a "gang plank" using which a subordinate may contact a superior or his superior in case of an emergency, defying the hierarchy of control. However the immediate superiors must be informed about the matter Order Social order ensures the fluid operation of a company through authoritative procedure. Material order ensures safety and efficiency in the workplace. Order should be acceptable and under the rules of the company Equity Employees must be treated kindly, and justice must be enacted to ensure a just workplace. Managers should be fair and impartial when dealing with employees, giving equal attention towards all employees. Stability of Tenure of Personnel The period of service should not be too short and employees should not be moved from positions frequently. An employee cannot render useful service if he is removed before he becomes accustomed to the work assigned to him.
  • 9. Page | 9 Initiative Using the initiative of employees can add strength and new ideas to an organization. Initiative on the part of employees is a source of strength for organization because it provides new and better ideas. Employees are likely to take greater interest in the functioning of the organization. Esprit de Corps This refers to the need of managers to ensure and develop morale in the workplace; individually and communally. Team spirit helps develop an atmosphere of mutual trust and understanding. Key Roles Fayol also divided the management function into five key roles:[1]  To organise  To plan and forecast (Prevoyance)  To command  To control  To coordinate

This wall mounted android tablet device can help secure your home and provides many additional features to automate your home. This tiny little device attached to your wall can make your life easy and secure. smartALERT Controler (SAC) LAN: smartALERT controller is a slave device which is always remains in listen mode to accept connection request fromsmartALERT Tablet. This device is currently implemented as a slave device which is not capable to do any function by itself. smartALERT controller will act as a bridge between sensors, electrical controllers, telephone line etc. the connection between SAC and the Tablet is established through a W-LAN connection. SAC is listening on a TCP/IP portand capable of accepting a single incoming connection. smartALERT application running on the tablet PC will repeatedly try to establish connection with SAC through the configured IP address. Onceit establishes the connection, smartALERT application will continuously ping the SAC to determine its status. SAC is equipped with 433 MHz RF receiver which is listening for any sensorto trigger. Once it detects a valid sensor trigger it just pass the sensoraddress to the smartALERT application through the already established TCP/IP connection. It is then the responsibility
  • 26. Page | 26 of smartALERT application to determine the validity of the sensor triggered and initiate the Alarm Sequence. SAC is also capable to command electrical devices through its 433Mhz transmitter. Depending on the commands received from the SA it generate the proprietary RF protocolsignals to command the devices. The electrical devices to be controlled from the SA must be equipped with a device controller which is capable to receive the command generated by the SAC. smartALERT Controller (SAC) USB: The USB version of SAC is a comparatively cheaper option. The only disadvantage of this system is that the tablet must have a USB port and the SAC to be connected directly using a cable which makes it little inconvenient to fix it.SAC functions the same as described in the case of LAN version except it uses a serial interface. smartALERT Controler Remote Configuration :- This is a very convenient configuration where SAC and SA can connect over internet. This will allow user to keep SA on a tab or a mobile and monitor a remote location. This method will be very useful when you want to monitor your office from your home or while you are on move. The great advantage is that in case of an alarm, user can monitor cameras immediately to determine the threat. In order configure SA in this mode, it is recommended to have a static IP at the premises. Even though it can work with Dynamic DSN a Static IP and a stable internet can make the system more reliable.

  • 39. Page | 39 HYDRAULIC PRESSES:- Since the hydraulic press works on the basis of Pascal's Law, its working is similar to the one of the hydraulic system. A hydraulic press consists of basic components used in a hydraulic system that includes the cylinder, pistons, the hydraulic pipes, etc.The working of this press is very simple. The system comprises of two cylinders, the fluid (usually oil) is poured in the cylinder having a small diameter. This cylinder is known as the slave cylinder. The piston in this cylinder is pushed so that it compresses the fluid in it that flows through a pipe into the larger cylinder. The larger cylinder is known as the master cylinder. The pressure is exerted on the larger cylinder and the piston in the master cylinder pushes the fluid back to the original cylinder. The force applied on the fluids by the smaller cylinder results in a larger force when pushed in the master cylinder. The hydraulic press is mostly used for industrial purposes where a large pressure is required for compressing metals into thin sheets. An industrial hydraulic press uses the material to be worked upon along with the help of the press plates to crush or punch the material into a thin sheet. A hydraulic press is used for almost all industrial purposes. But basically it is used for transforming metallic objects into sheets of metal. In other industries, it is used for the thinning of glass, making powders in case of the cosmetic industry and for forming the tablets for medical use.

Prevent post-shipment cracks due to withdrawals of Jet concrete or radiant plate applications. Reduce the problems of incorrect installation of reinforcement. The fibers can be used in ferrous material, polypropylene or polyester depending on your needs. Added by plant still together aggregates and water mixture to be used subsequently already mixed with the cls. Processing requires particular attention to the dough to ensure an even distribution of fiber throughout the concrete. The surface finish of the floor requires a good care to avoid the affioro of parts of the fibres. Thick fibre-concrete significantly increases traction characteristics and partially integrates tradition Available in the sizes from 1M long to 4M long in preferable increment of 0.50M. Thickness varies from minimum 125 mm to 200 mm depending upon the Superimposed load on the slab and span.al armor.

  • 49. Page | 49 Partitionwalls:- A partition wall is a wall for the purpose of separating rooms, or dividing a room. Partition walls are usually not load-bearing. Partition walls may be constructed with bricks or blocks from clay, terra-cotta or concrete, reinforced, or hollow. Glass blocks may also be used. They may also be constructed from sheet glass. Glass partition walls are a series of individual toughened glass panels, which are suspended from or slide along a robust aluminium ceiling track. The system does not require the use of a floor guide, which allows easy operation and an uninterrupted threshold. Timber may be used. This type of partition consists of a wooden framework either supported on the floor below or by side walls. Metal lath and plaster, properly laid, forms a reinforced partition wall. Partition walls constructed from fibre cement sheeting are popular as bases for tiling in kitchens or in wet areas like bathrooms. Galvanized sheet fixed to wooden or steel members are mostly adopted in works of temporary character. Plain or reinforced partition walls may also be constructed from concrete, including pre-cast concrete blocks. Metal framed partitioning is also available. This partition consists of track (used primarily at the base and head of the partition) and stud (vertical sections fixed at 600mm centres). Internal wall partitions also known as office partitioning is made using plasterboard (drywall), or varieties of glass. Toughened glass is a common option as it is feasible however there is also low iron glass better known as opti-white glass which increases light and solar heat transmission. Panels available in length: 1.0 Mtr.to 3.0 Mtrs. in increment of 0.24 Mtr and thickness from 75 mm to 100mm.
  • 50. Page | 50 Advantages Of Siporex:- LIGHT WEIGHT : Oven dry density of Siporex is 400 to 650 kg/cum, i.e. Just 1/4th the weight of dense concrete and 1/3rd the weight of conventional clay bricks. Due to light weight, the dead load on foundation as well as on supporting structure reduces, thereby saving in concrete and steel. Also due to lesser width of Siporex blocks, more carpet area will be available in the same built up area. HIGHLYINSULATING : Cuts the peaks of heat and cold to provide economy in the working of air conditioning. K value 0.122 Kcal/Hr/(M degree centigrade) makes it suitable as insulation material. HIGHLYFIRE RESISTANT AND INCOMBUSTABLE: Siporex products are highly fire resistant & offers twice the fire protection of concrete. Siporex blocks are able to withstand the standard fire for 240 minutes. ISI MARK & NORMS : Being a factory made, quality of Siporex products is assured. Siporex products have BIS norms and markings. Siporex slabs are conforming to IS 6073 and Siporex blocks are conforming to IS 2185 (Part 3). HIGH STRENGTH TO WEIGHT RATIO : For Siporex 18 to 22 against 16 for M15 grade concrete. WATER REPELLENT & LESS WATER PENETRATION : All reinforced Siporex products are made water repellent and un-reinforced products have little water penetration due to Siporex structure being closed cells leading to less capillary action. Moreover, high surface activity allows for fast evaporation of moisture.

  • 60. Page | 60 Conductor:- INCAB judiciously selects continuously cast rods for high annealibility & conductivity. If special rods are required the same can be obtained from its own rolling Mill where Copper or Aluminum used for the conductors is obtained in ingot or wire – bar form & subjected to close scrutiny for composition, purity &free from defects quality. The virgin material is processed into rods under controlled conditions in INCAB's own Rolling Mill or continuous casting proper zinc plant. The rods after testing are drawn into wires in the Wire Mill. These wires are formed into the final conductor in the stranding machines under strict quality assurance programs. Insulation The conductors prepared are then insulated either by extrusion or taping; insulation is applied by extrusion by using the appropriate PVC compound. Core identification Cores shall be identified by different colouring of PVC insulation by adopting different schemes. For cables having more than 5 cores, as an alternative for the provision as above, the core identification may be done by numbers. In that case, the insulation of cores shall be of the same colour & numbered sequentially, starting with number 1 for the inner layer. All the numbers shall be of the same colour which
  • 61. Page | 61 shall contrast with the colour of the insulation. For reduced neutral conductors, the insulation colour shall be black. Filler& inner sheath In cables consisting of two or more cores, the individual cores are laid up & then surrounded by a common covering either by extrusion or by wrapping of tapes. The normal practice is to use PVC either extruded or taped coverings, the grade of PVC being chosen to be compatible with the temperature rating of the cable. For normal installations PVC tapped inner sheath is sufficient, but in cables installed in water – logged areas or for added protection, extruded inner sheath may be specified. PVC fillers are included between laid-up cores, where necessary. Armouring The following types of armour may be applied: 1. Galvanised round steel wire 2. Galvanized formed wires 3. Non-magnetic armour of aluminum, aluminum alloy or copperwires for single core cables, used in A.C circuits. Cables can be supplied with double armouring of steel wires or steel strips to obtain added longitudinal strength & mechanical protection, e.g, of mining cables, cables in shaft, etc. further, conductance of the armour can be increased, if required, by replacing some of the steel wires/ formed by hard drawn tinned copperwires. Outer Sheath This is extruded over the armoured cables & over the inner sheath for unarmoured cables. Special PVC compounds canbe used for the outer sheath, to suit a variety of environmental & fire-risk conditions.
