Introduction
The IoT connects devices such as everyday consumer objects and industrial
equipment to the network enabling information and managing these devices
via software to increase efficiency, enable new services and achieve other
benefits like health, safety and education.
Things, in the IoT, can refer to a wide variety of devices such as heart
monitoring implants, biochip transponders on farm animals, electric clams in
coastal waters, automobiles with built-in sensors, or field operation devices
that assist fire-fighters in search and rescue. These devices collect useful data
with the help of various existing technologies and then autonomously flow the
data between other devices. Current market examples include smart
thermostat systems and washer/dryers that utilize wifi for remote monitoring.
IoT is also expected to generate large amounts of data from diverse locations
that is aggregated at a very high-velocity, thereby increasing the need to better
index, store and process such data.
In brief, the Internet of Things (IoT) is a computing concept that describes a future
where everyday physical objects will be connected to the Internet and be able to
identify themselves to other devices. The term is closely identified with RFID as
the method of communication, although it also may include other sensor
technologies, wireless technologies or QR codes.
The IoT is significant because an object that can represent itself digitally becomes
something greater than the object by itself. No longer does the object relate just
to you, but is now connected to surrounding objects and database data. When
many objects act in unison, they are known as having "ambient intelligence.“
Latest TrendsWeb Of Things
Building on top of the Internet of Things, the Web Of Things is an architecture for
the application layer of the Internet of Things looking at the convergence of data
from IoT devices into Web applications to create innovative use-cases.
Improving the Industrial Internet
The Industrial Internet sector of the IoT is responsible for its continued expansion
for the past several years. The primary application of the Industrial Internet is
asset management, in which a sophisticated series of real-time and predictive
analytics continuously monitors equipment and provides timely. The real-time
monitoring of these equipment assets utilizes Operational Intelligence that is
pivotal to monitoring of data relevant to hedge funds, e-commerce, and numerous
marketing applications. The number of vendors developing Operational
Intelligence should continue to multiply.
Secure Cloud AnalyticsElastic computing via the Cloud is one of the most useful means of dealing with
issues relating to resource allocation, particularly when one considers the costs
benefits associated with this option.
The Cloud environment for IoT analytics should significantly impact security
measures.

The true potential of the IoT not only involves connectivity between a growing
number of devices, but the ability to derive action from that connectivity. The

The combination of cloud computing and IoT can enable ubiquitous sensing services and
powerful processing of sensing data streams beyond the capability of individual “things”,
thus stimulating innovations in both fields. For example, cloud platforms allow the sensing
data to be stored and used intelligently for smart monitoring and actuation with the smart
devices. Novel data fusion algorithms, machine learning methods, and artificial intelligence
techniques can be implemented and run centralized or distributed on the cloud to achieve
automated decision making. These will boost the development of new applications such as
smart cities, grids, and transportation systems.
2. Building and Home automation
From enhancing security to reducing energy and maintenance costs, TI offers a wide range
of innovative IoT technologies for monitor and control of intelligent buildings and smart
homes.
3. Smart Cities
Reduce cost and resource consumption with
TI’s IoT products for lighting, surveillance, centralized
& integrated system control and more.
4. Wearables
With the broadest portfolio in the industry,
TI provides highly efficient ultra-low power
solutions for the wearables market.
Interest Areas
My areas of interest in the chosen topic is in the cloud
analytics. I’d like to learn more about it and actively and
dedicatedly work on developing new applications to
build a smarter city to live in.
I’d like to work on an application to monitor the blood
pressure using a wearable around the wrist and monitor
the rate of breathing to aware the wearer about his
breathing habits and also advice him to alter them in
ways which will improve his health.

Introduction The IoT connects devices such as everyday consumer objects and industrial equipment to the network enabling information and managing these devices via software to increase efficiency, enable new services and achieve other benefits like health, safety and education. Things, in the IoT, can refer to a wide variety of devices such as heart monitoring implants, biochip transponders on farm animals, electric clams in coastal waters, automobiles with built-in sensors, or field operation devices that assist fire-fighters in search and rescue. These devices collect useful data with the help of various existing technologies and then autonomously flow the data between other devices. Current market examples include smart thermostat systems and washer/dryers that utilize wifi for remote monitoring. IoT is also expected to generate large amounts of data from diverse locations that is aggregated at a very high-velocity, thereby increasing the need to better index, store and process such data.

In brief, the Internet of Things (IoT) is a computing concept that describes a future where everyday physical objects will be connected to the Internet and be able to identify themselves to other devices. The term is closely identified with RFID as the method of communication, although it also may include other sensor technologies, wireless technologies or QR codes. The IoT is significant because an object that can represent itself digitally becomes something greater than the object by itself. No longer does the object relate just to you, but is now connected to surrounding objects and database data. When many objects act in unison, they are known as having "ambient intelligence.“

Latest TrendsWeb Of Things Building on top of the Internet of Things, the Web Of Things is an architecture for the application layer of the Internet of Things looking at the convergence of data from IoT devices into Web applications to create innovative use-cases. Improving the Industrial Internet The Industrial Internet sector of the IoT is responsible for its continued expansion for the past several years. The primary application of the Industrial Internet is asset management, in which a sophisticated series of real-time and predictive analytics continuously monitors equipment and provides timely. The real-time monitoring of these equipment assets utilizes Operational Intelligence that is pivotal to monitoring of data relevant to hedge funds, e-commerce, and numerous marketing applications. The number of vendors developing Operational Intelligence should continue to multiply. Secure Cloud AnalyticsElastic computing via the Cloud is one of the most useful means of dealing with issues relating to resource allocation, particularly when one considers the costs benefits associated with this option. The Cloud environment for IoT analytics should significantly impact security measures. Machine Generated Responses The true potential of the IoT not only involves connectivity between a growing number of devices, but the ability to derive action from that connectivity. Cloud Analytics The combination of cloud computing and IoT can enable ubiquitous sensing services and powerful processing of sensing data streams beyond the capability of individual “things”, thus stimulating innovations in both fields. For example, cloud platforms allow the sensing data to be stored and used intelligently for smart monitoring and actuation with the smart devices. Novel data fusion algorithms, machine learning methods, and artificial intelligence techniques can be implemented and run centralized or distributed on the cloud to achieve automated decision making. These will boost the development of new applications such as smart cities, grids, and transportation systems. 2. Building and Home automation From enhancing security to reducing energy and maintenance costs, TI offers a wide range of innovative IoT technologies for monitor and control of intelligent buildings and smart homes. 3. Smart Cities Reduce cost and resource consumption with TI’s IoT products for lighting, surveillance, centralized & integrated system control and more. 4.   • 6. Interest Areas My areas of interest in the chosen topic is in the cloud analytics. I’d like to learn more about it and actively and dedicatedly work on developing new applications to build a smarter city to live in. I’d like to work on an application to monitor the blood pressure using a wearable around the wrist and monitor the rate of breathing to aware the wearer about his breathing habits and also advice him to alter them in ways which will improve his health.
