In this presentation, Saurabh introduces SMAC and associated trends. Saurabh's interest area is mobility and cloud computing. A nifty app idea he has is a land line number creator that can use call forwarding to redirect the calls to mobile phone.

2. SMAC
Social: Social links people to their friends, work and each other in new and
unexpected ways. By using social media as a means of interacting
with their customers, businesses can today target their customers in a
more informed way and also gain real-time feedbacks from them.
Mobile: Mobile devices are a platform for effective social networking and
new ways to work. As business are switching to enterprise mobility,
importance of mobile devices like tablets, smartphones, sensors &
connected devices (like handheld sales devices) are increasing.
Analytics(Big Data): Big Data analytics helps businesses make better
decisions by analyzing large volumes of structured
and unstructured data, predict and identify change and
identify new opportunities such as new business
segments, best suppliers, associate products and sales
seasonality.
Cloud: Cloud enables delivery of information and functionality to users and
systems. Cloud services are popular because they can reduce the cost
and complexity of owning and operating computers and networks as
cloud users do not have to invest in information technology
infrastructure, purchase hardware or buy software licenses.

3. Latest Trends:
• The formula for the future of work is called SMAC-social, mobile, analytics
and cloud on one integrated stack, where each function enables another to
maximize their effect.
• This is the new enterprise IT model delivering an organization that is more
connective, collaborative, real-time and productive.
• Now a customer’s mobile device can signal store management while they’re
shopping.
• Advanced analytics arm associates with the right knowledge about that shopper
so they can provide more valuable assistance.
• And customers can compare products, get information and redeem targeted
offers from the Cloud while in store.
• Today’s SMAC Stack—‘the fifth wave’ of IT architecture—is happening faster
than anything that’s come before. By 2020, as many as 100 billion computing
devices will be connected to the Web and corporations will be managing 50
times the data they do currently. So SMAC will have a multiplying effect on
businesses and increase productivity across the organization.

4. Interest Areas:
• In SMAC, my interested areas are social, mobile and clouds. In mobile, I
want to develop android apps to make our life more easiest. As we all
aware of these apps importance, so doing work on this technology would
be a great opportunity for me.
• And cloud technology is currently using by all big companies to make
their data available everytime, everywhere. So being a fresher, working on
cloud technology would be good for my future.
• By using social networking sites we can show our products speciality
better. So this one is also my interest area.

5. Examples:
• I can innovate this by making a useful apps for the customers. An app
different from today’s logic.
 Idea: The Landline Call Diverter (LCD) is an android app that will divert
your incoming call coming to your unclaimed landline phone number-to-
your personal mobile number. The idea of making this app basically came
when I was registering a form on a website with my friends, it was asking
for landline phone number which was mandatory for everyone to fill. So
instead of taking a new landline connection, simple by using this Landline
Call Diverter app, you can create your own landline number for registration
purpose. And then can be use anywhere.
 So if anyone attempts to contact you on your landline number, it would
divert the call through the app to your mobile device (i.e., on your own
personal mobile no.). So this app can solve our current problems related to
landline phone numbers.
• By using cloud and social networking technologies we can move our
business to the higher level.

6. If given an internship…
• If you will give me internship in these areas, I would like work
on cloud technology.
• And I would also like to work on mobile and web application
development.

7. Conclusion:
By using SMAC technology, we get four different technologies
together. In SMAC each function enables another to maximize their
effect. So by using this technology companies business can grow fastly
within a small time and would be highly economical too.
