2. SMAC-Origin
• Everything new created comes out of a need
generated due to something existing.
• The concept of SMAC also was originated due to
the need of building efficient targeted products
with optimum resource utilisation by
understanding the environment where the
product works.
• SMAC(social, mobile, analytics and cloud) is the
concept that four technologies are currently
driving innovation in business.
3. SMAC-Significance
• A product can be termed successful only when it
reaches at least all of its target customers.
• Social Media provides a great platform to observe
,understand and analyse the target customers. This
provides us with two opportunities:
1. To build a customer base for a specific product.
2. To build a product for a specific customer cluster.
• Mobility helps in collecting instant data and hence
the quantity of data increases which leads to
enhanced quality of Analytics.
• The Cloud technology serves as a platform through
which the other three parts work together.
4. SMAC Model
• Accumulate and structure the data collected
through various input means ranging from the
web to social media to mobile devices to
embedded systems on the cloud platform.
• Apply analysis techniques and generate results
based on the patterns that emerge.
5. WHY SMAC?
• Understanding the dynamics of human society
and its patterns are a topic of great curiosity.
• The interest level rises as it’s a relatively new
field and hence opportunities are high.
• The possibility of invention and innovation of
technology is very high.
6. SMAC-Future
• The era of information has arrived and the world
has become a Global Village.
• Data is generated and moved across the world
every second which can be utilised to extract
great amount of knowledge.
• The analysis of this huge data is become a
necessity in this information era.
• Every field from theoretical sciences to marketing
needs analytics of data which leads to better
understanding of results.
7. Conclusion
• As the data accumulated gets bigger by the
day, there is a need to structure and then
analyse that data.
• Data Scientist is considered to be the sexiest
job of the 21st century and it gives immense
joy to be able to play with patterns,
predictions and analysis of data.
• Hence ,I would love to work on Data
Analytics.
