• Working as Testing and Commissioning Engineer in Advance Energy Company (MASCO group) KSA for
Saudi Electric Company projects from Nov 2013 to present.

Nov 2013.

Key Responsibilities:
Commissioning:
• Scheme check of MV SWGR and GIS based HV SWGR, its interlocking and modifications of schemes as per
site requirement.
• Configuring of BCU’s as per schemes.
• Scheme testing of protection panels and technical methodology of electrical protections such as Line
differential, Transformer differential, Bus bar differential, Capacitor protection, Bus coupler and Bus Section.
• Scheme check of control panels such as ABTS (Auto bus transfer), AVR (Automatic voltage regulator), ACCS
(Automatic capacitor control), Under Voltage (UV) and Under Frequency (UF) load shedding and its control
logic through IED’s.
• Commissioning of overall sync system of HV/MV Swgr.
• Testing and Commissioning of 125 V DC Battery chargers, Battery banks, ACDB, DCDB
• Pre commissioning checks of 110kV Power Transformers (UP TO 73MVA).
• Supervision for termination and laying of HV / MV underground. Power cables.
• Hand off experience on Numerical and Protection IED’s such as Control Relay, Transformer Differential, Line
Differential, OC/EF etc.
• Preparing the working schedule, trouble shooting, risk management, plan all activities, coordinating for
drawings.
Testing:
• Have very good knowledge and hand off experience on IED’s (RED670, P546, RET670, REC670,
REF615, P643, P142, SEL487 etc).
• Testing of circuit breakers (VCB, SF6 gas CB, ACB) such as contact resistance test, insulation test,
high voltage test, opening time, closing time etc.
• Perform testing of CTs/VTs such as polarity test, CT burden test, resistance measurement, CT
magnetizing current test, ratio test etc.
• Perform testing such as high voltage test, Tan delta test, percentage impedance, ratio test, magnetizing
current, magnetic balance & stability test for power transformer.
• Perform Stability test for high/low impedance bus bar.
• Perform testing of HV/MV cables and Bus bar using Insulation tester and Hi Potential kit.
• Secondary injection test such as CT & VT looping.

2. • Handling of test equipments such as CT Analyzer, CB Analyzer, Raptor, MOM, Megger, CPC 100,
Severker, Freja, AC/DC HiPot kit and Transformer testing kits.
Maintenance:
• Trouble shooting, general maintenance & preventive maintenance of transformers, HV/MV switchgear, Ring
main units, CTs/Pts etc.
Project: Construction of substation & LV distribution room at IBA City Campus Karachi.
• Construction of substation including erection of HV/LV switch gears, Feeders and ring main units
(RMU) and distribution networks.
• Installation of distribution transformer, its cable termination and testing.
• Installation of MCC Switch gear, ATS panels, AC/DC DBs and UPS including battery banks .
• Installation of generators (500KVA, 250KVA, 75 KVA) and its synchronizing through interlocking
logic.
• Worked on surge arrestors and electromechanical relays such as earth fault etc.
• Commissioning of HV/LV power and control cables it termination and testing.
• Site coordination with clients, consultant and project managers regarding site issues.
• Prepare Running bills as per BOQ and have done value engineering and cost estimation.
