(NFPs) have applied for CPD’s totally
free Force For Good (FFG) services.
3. WHAT IS FORCE FOR GOOD?
Understanding the importance of government

meet community needs, CPD and its partners
are pleased to announce that applications are
being accepted to participate in the 4th round
of FFG programming since 2011.
4. WHAT IS FORCE FOR GOOD?
This unique 6-12 month program is designed
to provide free capacity-building training for
NFP executive leaders serving Chicago
communities experiencing high rates of violent
crime. FFG Applications will be accepted from
Thursday, Feb 25th through noon on Thursday,
Mar 25th.
5. WHAT IS FORCE FOR GOOD?
Funded by U.S. Department of Justice grants, FFG has provided
capacity-building support to 80 competitively selected NFPs to
improve their ability to deliver such services as: emergency
shelter, clothing and food; youth tutoring, mentoring and
structured activities in safe places; immigration issues
advocacy; veterans support; economic development;
counseling; job training and placement; conflict resolution;
childcare; exposure to the arts; court advocacy/legal support;
activities to strengthen community cohesion and resilience;
reentry support – and more.
6. WHAT IS FORCE FOR GOOD?
FFG is designed to provide the Executive Leadership of
competitively selected NFPs with the skill sets, knowledge,
insights and supports they need to successfully meet the
challenges faced by their organizations. Over 12 months, FFG
will provide skill-building workshops, technical assistance and
mentorship in areas including: Working with the City to
Improve Public Safety and Community Services;
Marketing/Branding/Communication; Board Development; Use
of Technology and Social Media; Strategic Planning; Project
Management; and Fundraising.

9. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Must be a Chicago-based 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) that
serves Chicago communities experiencing
higher than average rates of violent crime
Must provide services that reasonably address
violent crime, those who commit violent crimes,
or the underlying conditions that contribute to high
violent crime rates
Must have been in existence for three or more years
Must have the capacity to commit to a 6 to 12-
month period of active FFG participation
Must not be debarred from doing business with the
City of Chicago

The application period is from February 26, 2016
through noon Thursday, March 25.
