1. A FACILITATOR’S AFTER-THE-MEETING CHECKLIST
This is a checklist of important elements to healthy and effective
group facilitation. Following a group meeting, go through this list
and check the box next to the statement if you’re answer is Yes!
●Was the goal or purpose of the session clear to you and to the
participants prior to the start of the meeting?
●Did you welcome everyone by name or personally introduce
yourself to new people?
●Was your facilitation style helpful with the type of group you
led?
●Did you delegate certain responsibilities or leadership roles to
group members?
●Did everyone have an equal opportunity to speak?
●Did you remain neutral or unbiased in your opinions?
●Would you consider the group members “supportive”?
●Was there a clear agenda for the group members?
●If you worked with a co-facilitator, were the two of you
supportive to one another?
●Were diverse views honored and respected by others?
●Was the level of trust among group members stronger?

2. Not all boxes will likely be 0 after every group meeting. The
group process ebbs and flows like any relationship. However, be
aware of the boxes that aren’t k week after week. Challenge
yourself to find ways to improve that piece of the group process
or your facilitation.
