- Millions of people walk regularly walk outdoors for leisure in the UK. Over 9 million adults in England walk recreationally for 30 minutes or more per month – 22% of the population. Walking is also an important form of transport – nearly all journeys involve walking to some extent. In England 47%of people walked at least 5 times a week, either for leisure, health or transport.
- The Ramblers is a volunteer-led organisation.
